Having paddled this section for over 50yrs I can say that conditions can vary a lot. In my videos I try to use the same gouging stations. Being about? midway between Senniebridge and Aberbran, Trallong serves as a good indicator for above and below Aberbran. This was about as low as I would consider and another 300ml on the gouge would be preferred. Depends on what you wish to get out of the trip, different features 😉.

Thanks for this video - I was wondering what this section looks like at low levels. But of research before heading out to do it in the morning!!

Do I recommend a lobster as a racing machine, no. It doesn't corner well either 😢

Such a fascinating look at how much can be achieved by so few. It is remarkable that this project is having such results and it proves the saying " the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time".

@DaveThroup How does the EA let a river get in this state? Years of neglect and money wasting on your watch.

Why do they call it a protected river? What about the protection of the farming land and properties that people live in? No farmers, no food!

It’s a total disgrace that EA and NE allow these rivers to get into such an appalling state and flood so badly. Then even worse when a land owner is told be NE it it is responsibility to clear it, gets permission to fell the trees, then gets on with it and ENDS UP IN JAIL!

Farmers Weekly, have uploaded an interview with John Price. It is outrageous what happened to him.

How tidal is the river at Brockweir? Can you only land or launch there around high tide (due to exposed mud) or can you do so anytime? Thanks
