Dear Scott, you and I were some of the people who joined St. Francis Methodist Church, on Swan. I had started to help the children of military children and spouses during the Gulf War. The Secretary of Defense, Mr. Cheney appointed me to help military families, which was the first war in which 70% of the military were married with families. This was also the time when so many people were affected directly of HIV. There were dear friends we lost to the virus. At the same time, things were changing in good way for LGBTQ folks. I met the man I would marry at St. Francis. Bob Walkup became the mayor of Tucson, and he asked Richard Clingaman and I to be the first couple to have the registry for same-sex couples for a whole list of things such as rights to be allowed to be with our partner at hospital visits, etc. Eventually same sex couples could marry, and the world did not explode. Richard and I are married, which makes us feel safer. We have been together now for 35 years. While the time of AIDS, being out changed our lives for the better and for the future LGBTGQ people and the rest of the population. My work on population-level prevention mental, emotional, and behavioral has spread at population level in North America, the EU, and the Commonwealth. In that time, you, others and I have made it to be real. One day, some young LGBTQ people said to me: "You are famous. You are in People Magazine for helping young people, educators, and families across the world, and you are gay." Now, that is something completely common. At the time of AIDS, it mobilized so many of us to step up to be "real". Thank you for doing the work to help the friends we lost, and thank you for making a better future for the LGBTQ people.

Beautiful property with fine finishes and a well done tour by Lynn. The furnishings and light fixtures, while compatible with the dark wood, seem a bit dated and old school IMHO. I do like how the granite inlays in the office seem to mirror what is used in the kitchen which seems to bring a cohesiveness and tie in. Well done.

My sincere condolences to you and your family, Dan. I greatly appreciated spending time with your grandpa and hearing his stories, not only from Vietnam, but also from the long life he enjoyed afterwards. I hope this video will bring you nice memories of him!

Texas Tech is building a Archive to the Vietnam War. I took my pictures there and they interviewed me. My greatest fear was to die with no place to leave my Vietnam photos. They would mean nothing to my family and end up in the trash. I hope someday they will be be viewed by descendants of my fellow soldiers.
