Can we get more info about R5 mark II body size speciations. How much larger is it then mark I? I’m asking because I have a full camera cage, with grips and everything else for the R5 mark 1 that also fits my EOS R6 mark ii and I’m trying to find out if it will fit the R5 mark II as well.

I ordered it, but feel reserved. Mostly software upgrades. Stacked censor is nice. Global would be better. But my biggest gripe is that they should have swapped the location of the video/photo switch with the power switch. That's what many people were saying for the R6 mii.

global is for action cameras. why would you want that in r5? theres already controversy about the faster readoutspeed that limits dynamic range

I have had my R5 MKII for about a week and have been shooting. It is a step up from the R5 when it comes to image quality pixel depth dynamic range and OH MAN THE AUTOFOCUS is AMAZING!!! It locks on target like a fighter jet. It just needs Shutter Angle for video. Rolling shutter is very close to the R3 which I believe is 4 or 5.3 ms and the R5II is close to 6ms

@@markdbey the sharpness is there because the auto focus is light years better. I have an R5 and when I’m shooting dark skin subjects in harsh lighting or low light it doesn’t capture good enough however the R5 Mark two it’s auto focus captures in low light harsh light and other crazy situations I might be in and it’s fast. What I like about the R5 Mark two compared to the original R5 is the pixel density which means the image has the same type of latitude where you can push and pull it to recover highlights and shadows clean similar to how the Fuji GFX cameras work.

I think some people who ordered from their local camera stores are getting them early. If you ordered through an online retailer like B&H, then it might be closer or right on the ship date. I forgot about my local camera store & ordered through B&H. When the Sony a7SIII, I pre ordered it through my local camera store and got it before the release date. Won’t make that mistake again in the future lol

You didn't mention whether I should use manual focus or continual focus. I used to shoot fine years ago but I forgot how and my focus was off. Should I use full automatic. I have the X-T20.

Its sooooo noisy! This was on our list to purchase but this review is making me think again. That much noise at the high base ISO is really nasty. I'm wondering how noise the mid-tier ISO is going to be.

raw light is noisy, you can shoot in others codecs and change the settings too.

Yes it's unusable...Like my FX6 at 12800, I never use it...even if it looks better than this, I find it still too noisy, so I always use 800 base ISO...So handy...

We are family owned and operated with stores based in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. In our testing on the S5IIX, we were impressed with the AF performance. We had AF Speed to +5 and AF Sensitivity to +3. It tracked faces and torsos well.
