For me, this seat was more than good for such a short flight. But I agree that KE's business class is not too competitive to other Asian carriers

Wow, that's a short flight for an A350-1000. Totally agree with about the price and service of CX. Asian airlines are very competitive, that service of CX is just OK, not that impressive while their price is usually a bit high

From Johannesburg to Bangkok via Hong Kong I am also looking at an 18 hour trip on Cathay Pacific. The one seat less per row in a 2x4x2 configuration makes a slight but crucial difference with more space when every inch counts. I don't care that much for the amenities, food and in-flight entertainment but it does not hurt either. Where airlines cuts costs is not providing lounge access access for premium economy. Where price is concerned it is hardly worth it except for ultra-long flights where economy class equals physical torture and more so to sit in at a window in economy where toilet breaks involve disturbing two other people instead of only one in premium economy..

Great video! Can’t wait to be honest. As an fyi for next time, you should definitely check out the Cathay Pacific lounge (which you are entitled to as a business class passenger). It’s honestly great and the food there is delicious with some Chinese flare. Always fewer people than at the JL lounges tbh

You get access to Cathay lounge if you’re flying jal business?
@rogerlee010
@rogerlee010 9 ай бұрын
@@saraweiskirch1141 Yes, you do! It's due to Oneworld Reciprocity rules. With some very few exceptions, if you have a oneworld business class ticket, you can enter any of the business class lounges operated by any of the airlines and there is no limit either. People consider London Heathrow Terminal 3 one of the best "playgrounds" as you can enter all of the four Oneworld lounges: the British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, and American Airlines lounges. I would definitely recommend putting some time to check out the Cathay lounge at HND or NRT next time you're there!

i prefer the dark green on white. that white makes the whole cabin lot more brighter and looking more spacious. how i wish cx will stick with her original colour scheme. now this new colour scheme is way too dark and kind of spooky. but i love the idea of that privacy screen/door.

Flew United Polaris MCO-IAD-CDG on July 4th and returned on The 19th,both flights in Polaris....what a disappointment...Polaris lounge at Dulles on the 4th was a disaster...food was very limited and sat on the heating tray for hours,was tasteless...took a shower and seconds later the water was up to my ankles...very bad drainage...The bar and bartenders were the best thing...on my flight that left at 11;00pm...flight attendants not friendly,served all the dishes on one tray..very warm champagne,was never chilled...on my return The Star Alliance lounge at CDG was 100 times better than Polaris...I did visit Polaris again at Dulles and was a zoo...lines for the bathrooms,over crowded..i walked right back out...The flight back also had one friendly flight attendant,very young and smiled all the time...3 wore face diapers throughout the 8 hour flight...I had it with United...never again...

Nice video. Our first PE was Cathay Pacific 12 years ago . It was not really worth it. except for a wider seat, a little extra legroom which I don't need because I'm a very small person everything else is like economy, no priority check in and boarding, food like economy no designated toilet even just one. Their B777-300Er has 1 toilet but crew let economy passengers use it so there's a long line all the time. Service is below average during departure and average service on return. Crew could not be found only during meals. Not worth it. For our short flights with their B747, even economy was worth it. BA was our 2nd PE experience which was even worst. No more Premium Economy for us. We always go BC but it's so expensive and if the crew, the service and the food are bad I will regret. I will say, I should have taken economy and enjoy the rest of the money. Our recent experience with Turkish Airlines BC especially our return flight to the US were terrible. You should have been more aggressive just like most of the Bloggers. You might have Business Class meals and royal treatment from the crew.

@TravellingisLife
@TravellingisLife Жыл бұрын
Hey Don, thanks for your question. The seats cannot recline to a lie flat bed, so the picture on the video is the most that i can go. That being said its more recline than a smaller business/first class plane on domestic flights. I tend to have lower back issues so actually having the seat in the recline position puts more pressure on the buns, which isn't ideal for 16 hours...

The A220-300 is now a medium-haul aircraft capable of flights of to 8 hours or 6600 km (3600 nm), and Delta is slowly adding this aircraft to thin transcontinental routes that require a 130-passenger jet. Breeze Airways is still waiting for its Transatlantic 4000 nautical mile A220-300 which can reach deep into Europe from New York and Boston. Longer A220 trips are coming!

The A350 and the 777-300er are both excellent and exceptional aircraft which are very successful and quite similar, these two aircraft are very renowned for their reliability and comfort. But, I have a preference for the A350 with a more modern, quieter and livelier cabin. Qatar Airways' 777 and A350 liveries are magnificent!

@planefan, thanks for your comment, the airbus is def more modern, and it would be interesting to see how the new 777x is when it finally comes out!
@planeup__3049
@planeup__3049 2 жыл бұрын
@@TravellingisLife Yes, I admit that the 777x against the A350 will really be a great fight and I find the 777-300er more iconic than the A350xwb. The 777 is a punch and the 777x (if all goes well) will be even better, while the A350 is exceptional, both are one of a kind and each other's nightmare. The 777 is the true nightmare of Airbus with its great worldwide success which even caused the death of its competitor. The A350 is boeing's worst nightmare with the same, a great worldwide success and in addition the latter was evolving while Boeing was in the midst of a crisis because of the 737-Max, suddenly the airbus took on even more importance because some customers have lost confidence in Boeing.

Are the seats noticeably wider than economy class? Or are they just spaced apart more but are roughly the same size?
@TravellingisLife
@TravellingisLife 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and the comment @ViIE. The best way to describe would be: newer economy seats are smaller, older are larger. if you have ever travelled in a Boeing 777 with a 3-3-3 seating in economy, it would be similar to this size.. (vs 3-4-3 in todays world). It does really feel like an older business class seat in the early 2000's

very nice staff, food is pretty bad even in premium economy. even sitting near the front they already ran out of selection, and plainly told me what they have left is what I get. got off the flight pretty hungry. snack tray in the back were mostly empty. I guess other passengers were hungry as well. I figure what ever, it's not like anyone ever starve to death on a flight before. I usually bring my own food and snack. cheers.
