Tthanks for showing side view of where everything is. Due to vision problems I can't see too well. But, your demo was excellent especially about moving the top slide before putting it back into the printer. Other folks dont mention it. Now my printer is happy again .I did not get a warning notice that it was low on ink. it just shut down,period, and I had no noticeable evidence that my printer was low on inks on the printed page. so is there a botton to press to keep it going? I have a TN830 /XL/V

HP printer ink has went downhill! I had an HP printer in high school and I got so much more out of those cartridges, on top of the fact they didn’t dry up, regardless of how little I used them.

i've done this before and it worked, but this time my printer displays 'E' for error and the cartridge icons are displayed as empty and blinking. weird. i've let everything dry out, reinserted the cartridges several times and powered off and unplugged the printer for a while, but nothing seems to help. both cartridges are nearly full and were printing faintly before i tried the water fixes.

A hard reset usually does the trick to get the cartridges working right away. Remove the problem cartridge, then turn off and unplug the machine for 2 minutes. Try reinstalling the cartridge after the machine reboots. Make sure the metal contact points on the rear of the cartridge are accessible and clean-wipe with a lint-free cloth. Reinstall the cartridges and try printing a test page. Hope it helps!

I tried this but then the ink streaks from wiping showed diluted black. How do I fix this? Cartridge is canon PG-745s Black

You can try to use a dampen cotton swab with the water or alcohol (should be damp only - squeeze or blot out any excess). Gently clean the surface of the print head, removing any dried ink, dirt or fibers. If any wet ink is left, blot it off with a dry swab or lint-free towel. Repeat steps 1-4 for any other printheads. Hope it helps!

Turn off and unplug the printer. First, make sure that your printer is turned off. Remove all printer paper from the tray and try reloading. Inspect and reload. Plug in and restart the printer.

Thank you for helping with the constant prompts to update firmware on my WF-2950. I am avoiding updates as I hear it may hinder my use of 3rd party ink. Just was a pain to have to press 3-4 buttons every time I turned the printer on to get to the main menu. I have a Mac - so I don't see anywhere that an automatic update could take place without me knowing. There is no separate program where I can access the printer preferences that includes updates - just supply levels and job info. So again - thanks!

A quick question - reading some of the older comments - one mentioned that having another computer on his home network let the printer update and bricked it to 3rd party ink - I have a son and daughter who both have PCs - they haven't printed yet - in fact they come to me to print documents, but since they have a PC and not a Mac, should I check their machines to see if there is an Epson program somewhere that I should disable automatic updates? They would only look for available printers on the network, choose the 2950 and print a doc if they needed to... Anything to worry about? No Rush - thanks

I just bought a bootleg replacement ink cartridge and the instructions said to remove the sealing tape. I searched and searched and couldn't find it. Then I watched your video and realized - my bootleg cartridge doesn't have sealing tape lol. At least it's working.
