Great video but remove the background sound effects, the raw audio would have been way more epic to hear for more than 10 mins :)

question:were you using stock or aftermarket suspension?what tires are you running thanks
@moey1984au
@moey1984au 2 жыл бұрын
Stock standard suspension with all terrain tyres. The problem on this trip was clearance. If I'd had even 2" lift it would have been a massive improvement.

Good video, and nice to see another Challenger offroad getting it done ;) Converting my 2010 Challenger from family wagon to more focused off-road use. Just put new suspension in...wow what a difference.

Nice video have taken my Pb many times thru glasshouse. Has yours got the factory rear locker? I’ve completed most tracks in there with rear locker and winch. The challengers are more capable than most people realize.

Good to see you have some (solo) fun with a challenger. Please just quit the horrid generic music, it completely ruined it for me.

Nice work! Just wondering if you’ve had any mechanical problems with the Challenger. Do you have a catch can like a Provent fitted? Do you think these would tow an offroad camper well? I’m looking at getting one instead of my Triton diesel.
@moey1984au
@moey1984au 4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks mate... No mechanical issues at all, and I do quite a bit of 4wding. No Provent fitted. I haven't done any heavy / Offroading towing. It's rated to 3t towing capable. Iv seen many towing camper trailers so I wouldn't see an issue.

I have a 2013 base model Challenger. Have not done off road with a trailer but I regularly tow on road a horse float with 2 big horses. Conservatively 2.2tonne. No issues but fuel economy is not good as you would expect which is not assisted by a 70 litre fuel tank.

hey mate. yeah the Challenger is pretty cool off road. Mine is my second 4wd. Iv taken it all over the country through heaps of deserts and never had any troubles. Love takin it on the beach sand dunes. My all terrain tyres are quite worn now so im slippin and sliding in the mud these days.almost time for some newies! Apart from the usual stuff like low klms, and always preferably a citybasher, try and get one with a front bar and what ever extras u can! im selling mine soon if u are in Nth QLD!

@thecutzook Yeah man they were at 12 PSI. and my guage is good. was just a really soft patch that the softy rover couldnt get through. The Mitsubishi had no troubles, probably because of the wider tyres and higher clearance though

If you had them tyres at 12 PSI You need a new guage and road tires are best on the beach I never had any trouble running HTs on the beach every weekend and used to always end up towing other guys out!

True. It's hard to believe that those tires were at 12psi. On very soft sand, I set my tires at 15psi and I can clearly see the difference in shape. I use AT tires now, but yes, HTs are good on the beach and even better than anything else 🙂

Freelanders ROCK!!!
@FatKidOnA250
@FatKidOnA250 15 жыл бұрын
Try driving out of the ruts... Rule no.1 dont go in deep ruts... you only make them worse and you risk getting stuck... Go to some pay+play days, learn the technique, learn how to ground read. But most importantly, know your vehicle... A freelander wont go rock crawling, but a defender wont accelerate to 60 as fast... thats because a defender is built for mainly off road, the freelander is made for mostly on road.. Dont rely on the TC, Why do you think they ended up put CDL back on the D2??
