What does the engine power???
@davereeve5258 Жыл бұрын
It use to power a small modern corn mill, flour from which was sold in the cafe and used for the bread they used. I understand that's all gone , what a shame !

Very interesting to see the parts from the front/head to the back/rear, the spring and arm driven fuel injector, the arms of the inlet and outlet valves, the eccentric rotating oiler arm and finally the rotating governor with its own arm. Nice. I still think that among the numerous English crude oil single cylinder, open crank, horizontal engine manufactureres the Blackstones stand out. Their closed crank engines are great too. What quality.

So the bore is 10.503 inches what's the stroke and flywheel dimensions and weight?

The piston engine was removed. Lol 😆 a piston itself isn’t an engine. Must be a cultural language ordeal. It’s still funny tho. Thanks for posting this. Very splendid diesel 👍

It looks like a hodge podge of cams and levers that were after thoughts as the developers found they kept needing new additions to make it run efficiently. Kind of like the old Winchester House in California.

They still called it an oil engine, even though it's a solid-injection diesel engine, one of the first to be made in large numbers.

Nicely done mate! Superb video quality and sound! Love old engines. If I have the room and the money, one day I'd buy an old engine and run it just for the sound and the whole sight. A mechanical orchestra!

My grandfather Tom Cleave of Pityme St Minver Cornwall England. Had an engine like this driving his travelling bed saw bench in the 1950s. All gone now. I remember he used to run out of air on starting sometimes.Oh dear!!

Nice to see an old Spring Injection Blackstone still at work, allways enjoy watching these because of the way the governor and injection system can be seen working. One of the finest oil engines every made.

The story line is some what leaving untold, Is in possoible to fit a ND filter to correct the contrast of the sky line to the cliff for a better density you are achieving and you will enjoy this more the more you use the HD Video, a Script board, bullet points and narration will enhace the efforts well done Son!
@MrJohnmelton13 жыл бұрын
I found the lack of script, and Video editing, to tell the whole story in haff the time! Work from bullet points to achieve the story, the naration need a neck microphone working from the script, the engine if you listen carefully seems to chant "stop me, stop me, stop me, having worked on these engines at Savages Enginering sounds like engine slap, the Photography was very clear and interesting
