Hey Ethan, thanks for watching and the comment/question... I use "Stream Counter" by BarRaider from the Elgato Marketplace. Super easy to setup and get working.. I just have a few buttons for each player for +1/+5 or -1 to quickly go back and forth.. And if you just hold one of them for 5 seconds, it resets the counter back to zero... Hope that helps!

I bought containers off amazon and bought 60 mil magnetic sheets that are sticky on the back and use that. I have a very fancy tournament transport for all the cards, dice, tokens and tools.

Yea... Op Vader comes with some REALLY good cards... You could easily "print and play" the cards... You might only have an issue at a "sanctioned" event...

You can grab the card images from AMGs website... Look up the Op Vader pack and it should so images of the cards... If not there.. you can grab them from Tabletop Admiral.

My gaming group usually builds a legit landscape thats more akin to a diorama than a gaming board. We dont even think about deployment zones, objective tokens, or cover until the entire board is set up. We like to play like our armies just happened upon this terrain and we gotta make do with what we got. Makes you play more strategic when the landscape is uneven. Ive had my fair share of tournament legal terrain where it’s just a building in each quadrant and the whole board is just completely even on all sides and it gets pretty boring pretty fast. If you’re a casual gamer, just make your board look as cool as possible over whats fair or Whats tournament standard or even whats considered playable. My advice is to just make your board as cool looking as possible and your boards wont devolve into being the same thing every time

Death from above does work on the building. You can think of the actual game board as high 0 terrain so by being on the height 1 buildings you would fulfil the requirement for the ability to deny cover. Awesome bat reps so far, keep up the amazing work

And should I buy another box of Scouts?

For the Stormtrooper Upgrades I would say yes... For two reasons.. First is the extra heavy units in the box, specifically the RT-97C (1R 3W / R4) and the T-21 (4W / R3 / Critical 2). The RT-97C with your HRU units in Blizzard Force is very good and the T-21 is just a good other option in non-Blizzard lists.. Second to that.. Is the Storm Trooper Specialist. This unit is a 9 cost, 1 more than the additional trooper unit, and gives access to aim and surge tokens. The aim with the Precise keyword on the Storms makes this a "most include" in Stormtrooper Units. The extra box of Scouts is really optional depending on what else you would like to play. If you look at the Tempest Force Battle Force you can run, if I recall, up to 6 units of Scouts. Note these can't be Strike Teams, just the full squads. I have one doubt... if you start with the blizzard force box and you need two more stormtrooper boxes and two more bikes... could you take a core set if you can split it with someone or it isn¡'t worth it?

For sure.. The "split the core box" is always a good option but just not something everyone will be able to do... If you can go that route, it can definitely be cost effective!

Seeing that they’ve announced new models (and pretty important ones like generic Jedi) planned to release well into next year gives me hope for the longevity of this game. As a longtime SW fan, it can be a little difficult to keep pace with the rise and fall of so many different board games. When Shatterpoint debuted, I was worried that was a death knell for Legion, so I’m glad to see they’re still fully committed to expanding the game! And overall, the new units all look great. Excited to see a cool melee option for Empire, Andor-ized Rebels, the classic crab droid, and especially some generic Jedi, so people can have rules if they want to 3D print proxies of their OC Jedi characters or whatever.

Totally agree... Happy to see the new units that are coming as well as the new mechanics/keywords that are included with them.. Gives a little more spice to games.. I would just like to see some additional Battle Plan (Deployment, Objective, Condition) cards or even updates in the future <<cough>> Vaps <<Cough>>... But as Legion players, we have good stuff to look forward to!

Good coverage, thanks! One reason that characters like Del specify the health is because they can be attached to other units like storm troopers. While this doesn't seem to be the case for Bad Batch, that doesn't mean flavor wise, someone like Wrecker might have 3 wounds (?)

Ah.. Good point, thanks! Yea.. I am just not really sure how to interrupt the lack of wounds on the upgrade cards... Maybe those aren't final edits.. or maybe... They all will just get the same amount of wounds per mini... I guess time will tell! Thank you for the comment and watching. 👍

@@langerslegionit was so much better. I had a plan for the objective locations and deployment layouts based on the graphic. One thing I’m still exploring is making a story in my mind about why the table is doing what it’s doing. That should take things to the next level. I’m also trying to explore more elevation because of the new climb rules and jump units. Some of my table terrain is pretty flat so trying to get more LOS in there. But as far as placement goes, this is tremendous and fair for both players.

having started with Age of Sigmar from Warhammer this is a welcome relief. I have a huge Nighthaunt army that I have spent countless $$ on and wish I had looked into this sooner. I have been an avid fan of Star Wars since Ep 3.

I never went down the WH path.. But I know from looking at the boxes on the shelves at the LGS that it is a stiff.. investment... compared to something like Legion... Granted, the details in their models are top notch and go above what I see in SWL.. So I can understand it... to a point. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

501st’s golden zone is skirmish due to how elite the army is. In standard it gets a little tricky trying to hit 800 so you end up maxing out upgrades on units which hurts when they die but you have the right amount of activations and upgrades in a skirmish for 501st. I like running rex and arcs up the front with 2 corps fire supporting and a walker dealing with any armor. Rex and arcs with fire support pretty much guarantees the opponent will lose 2 activations each turn.

Great video and well put. The examples are great and helpful. I like your rundown of how you set up a table. I've used that Fifth Trooper article as well for my tables. I honestly enjoy table building just as much as playing the game. Always keep building and creating those awesome tables themes!

Thanks for posting this was helpful. My thought would be there does not seem to be enough line of sight blocking terrain in your layout. Wonder what your thoughts would be on that. I think its good to have a good amount of variety between tables, but this layout seems, at least from the different views to be pretty open. Would you consider this a more "open" table? Thanks again I really enjoy topics like this helps me explain my thought process when setting up tables for out local group.

Totally agree this is a more "open table"... I still need to build/make some larger H2 LOS pieces.. For now, at least how we play it, the only LoS are the taller rocks (H1) and the huts (H1 as well). So it could be improved, but hopefully the concepts are coming across? Thanks for watching and welcome any additional thoughts on videos you would like to see.

Thanks for posting this. Super helpful! I have thoughts about boards, especially at tournaments being "too neutral" or balanced. I don't think they should be. By one side having better cover than the other it makes the red player, blue player choice relevant.

Good point... Maybe fair, on my part, was too strong of a word.. Having the bid should provide some additional advantages, and table edge of course can be a huge one. It is probably more about weighing the so it isn't a drastic advantage. Thanks for the comment and watching!

To counter your point on the meta shifting away from Tauns, I think 3 Tauns 1 dish is quite good. I think EBD is the best way to play rebs in the current meta. every meta is different for sure. but to the point of your video, i think any rebel player starting out should go out and buy a box of vets for sure. I think 2 or 3 CMOs is the only place to start a rebel army.

I would go; Crack Shot, Whipcord, Last Stand, Making the Way, Volunteer, and Rule with Respect... I could see swapping out Whip depending on what Objectives you prefer...

Personally I am not a fan of Jet Packet or Rocket command cards for Fett. Last Stand can play with Boba and Volunteer could tag along with your snipers... You could swap out Whipcord for a Simple Man depending on what you want in your Battle Deck... But having a way to lock down a Force User or a "thumbs unit" can be pretty handy.

I love the video, ones like this are super helpful. Here are a couple keywords I think you missed... Ram X - turn X number of dice to crits if you took at least a full move. I believe this should be in the Modify Attack Dice phase Danger Sense X - roll one extra defense dice per suppression you have up to X. In the Roll Defense Dice Step Are we missing any others?
