In a way this proves Probe was lazy as hell when it came to porting the game, I mean look at MK3 when Sculptured Software did it they added all the sounds and announcements to that one. Probe was just lazy

ahoy! thx for sharing the Captain Barrel demo to the world! ^^ u can try to put enemies into barrels and throw a barrel on them , 4 enemies killed in a row = 1 treasure chest , 3 treasure chests = 1 bonus map (unlock bonus stage) also use DOWN + JUMP to step off from platforms ;-)

MD versión looks, sound and play fantastic. The only thing i would correct is size of sprites. As a result of the increase in horizontal and vertical resolution the sprites seems smaller than in SNES. If the Sprite were a bit bigger, the result would be much more impressive in my opinion.

32X was 32 megabits & SNES was 24. 32X had intro screens & SNES had the ending screens. SNES had a bunch more sound effects overall than 32X but 32X had arcade exact voices while SNES's were compressed to fit the smaller cartridge. 32X characters were higher resolution than SNES & some 32X backgrounds were more accurate than SNES. I think if Sculptured Software had done the 32X port with the same 32 meg cart, the graphics would've been even closer to the arcade & all the missing sound effects (minus all the different Kahn sayings from the arcade) would've been included but possibly a bit compressed to get them all on there. Both versions are very enjoyable. I wish I could program so I could put the best elements from each into the same game, being able to toggle soundtracks

Games like this one with a lot of multi scale scrolling so fast are possible only on MD! I remember shoot'em up titles on SNES and the scrolling were terrible and slow

I wonder if they could patch the sega cd version to make it better too its still missing a lot of stuff

This is a much better game than I expected. Sega CD would have been a good choice for the platform. Maybe the homebrew people will remake it.

My favourite game on the system.

The MS DOS port is awful. The controls are very unresponsive compared to Genesis/ SEGA CD/ SNES and Windows 95 special edition port. It's also missing all the special edition contents. The windows 95 version is so much better in this regard. Has all the goodies, and the controls feel exactly as good as the genesis/ sega cd versions- responsive and fluid.

Looks as good as a Neo-Geo game. Incredible the graphics and sound.

I admit, the Scramble Launch sequence going into the fray looked hella smooth compared to back in the day when starting a stage off, that's really something to look at! And to ask this is being worked on by Yuzoboy himself!? Seeing stuff from him, LegendOfRenegade, and Savage Regime is fuel for retro-remasters, almost as good as how Ivan worked on Iron Meat, which is another great hit! This is more Sega style though and I grew up with that kind of mix so I'm sharply interested of this! 😻

While BK3 is a better game, I'll admit that them preventing nuclear war is both interesting and new but totally away from what Streets of Rage was about. This sounds like a plot for a G.I. Joe beat em up, not this is all I'm saying.
