@@hillbillyhippyadventures Kind of surprising , I've not been to that area yet. Ill have to come up and check it out. My thoughts would be because of shallow flats around Blue Lick but during floods they should be able to cross. especially since its all down stream of Cave Run. They can be elusive sometimes ill have to do some more digging

I like that Lifetime boat. I got the Yukon, I wish I would of went with one more your style. It seems lighter and easier to handle in transport and portaging. I like the molded foot braces. you dont have to worry about them breaking or anything. the Yukon has adjustable foot pegs and they aint real sturdy. Good fishin dude!

Yes, it's great for shallow water fishing, constantly getting in and out. My only complaint is for extended time in the seat, it sits very low and has verry little padding, even with a Seat cushion I'm numb below the waist after an hour.

I'll share my starting routine story. At first I had issues getting it started like you did. Once i did start it I would run until the gas ran out, refuel, then have problems starting again. Took it to the shop and they ended up having to clean the carburetor out. This was a 2022 motor new in box but I bought it in 2024. After that my start routine from cold start is full choke and throttle at start position. Pull three times and it starts. Run it however long but when I kill the motor, I turn the fuel to the off position. This seems to greatly help keep fuel primed in the line. Then when I want to move again i turn the fuel back on, don't use the choke but put the throttle about 3/4 open and it starts in 1 pull. It runs all day like this and starts everytime using this procedure. Hopefully this helps someone. The mechanic did tell me that the little carburetor floods easily. So you shouldn't ever have the choke fully out with the throttle also opened up. You just dump lots of fuel into the carb and now you are flooded. To remedy flooding you turn off the choke, open throttle to full, and pull the cord 5-6 times to purge the excess gas out. You can also pull the spark plug out to see if its saturated and dry it off.

I'm sure you have figured it out that because of the design of the fuel feed is why it takes 15 to 20 pulls to start the first time. After that 1st or 2nd pull starts it. Wonderful engineering on Mercury's part.
@davidheitman70045 ай бұрын
wrong. prime it. if cold. half choke in the 70's. 1st or second pull.

@@davidheitman7004 David, My information was from my local Mercury dealer mechanic and if you search KZbin, you will see others have the same problem. A couple guys have even converted theirs over to a quick connect system. I'm not a newbie. I have owned 4 Bass boats All with Mercury's and a couple john boats with Evinrude's and Johnson motors. I'm 75 yrs old. Been around a few motors. I'm glad yours works like it should.

PS....after it starts the first time, no problem after that all day long.
@EndicottStudios5 ай бұрын
Yes, The first time is the only time I've had issues (Except when I forget to put the key in). Most of the time it will start within a few pulls. I think It was flooded from transport. The Dealership put gas in and started it at the shop. then it spends a few hours on its side on the way home. I was also following directions on the handle and had it in start position. Once I gave it some gas it started right up. If anything, I think it was just user error
