I am a huge fan of the Old West and Billy the Kid is my favorite outlaw. I study, I read and watch any documentary I can find including everything put out by the legendary Gale Cooper. So thank you for covering this schoolhouse, it was very interesting. THANK YOU!

Brushy Bill knew about two letters written to the governor of New Mexico. I believe Lou Wallace that historians did not know about until 1969 when they were found only the real Billy the Kid would’ve known about those two letters just makes you wonder is it possible that Billy the Kid lived and met Brushy Bill or Miller told him his life story and explicit exact detail and just tried to get the pardon for him, considering even if he got the pardon for the killing of sheriff Brady, he still killed Abel Ollinger was a US Marshall even if he got the pardon they would’ve took him into custody right away because that was a offense unless brushy Bill he’s old and at the end of his rope and it didn’t matter The great great Neice of Jay Frank Dalton or Jess James said that her great great uncle Jesse James died at 102 and told her before he died that brushy bill was Billy the Kid. Billy‘s dad was confederate soldier under Quantrell. Jesse James was a Quantrell man Jessie said he knewbrushy Roberts since he was seven years old and new Billy, the kid was brushy bill just saying

He knew nothing about any letters to Wallace. All of Wallace’s papers had been handed over to the Indiana state archives and every letter was accounted for decades before Brushy Bill came on the scene. You’re just repeating fabricated stories that authors and publishers are making up.

Interesting book, but I do not think it would have changed the minds of people who need the storyline of Brushy Bill's tale that he was Billy the Kid. Some people need that happy ever after ending. My two cents what happened with Brushy Bill is that he was old enough to hear the stories about BTK, but still too young to have met him. In the 1920s, with the advent of the affordable automobile, ordinary people started to travel as tourists. Old West towns like Tombstone became destinations for the tourist. Even small cow towns in Texas, had gas stations that tourist would need to stop to. Brushy looked and dressed the part of a cowboy, he must of told tall harmless tales to tourists and eventually as he grew older started to believe in them. Like the 911 faker, Brushy fullfilled a need that most people have for heros that survived the impossible odds.

Y'alls obsession over a punk ass sociopath is disturbing. Are there redeeming aspects of this guy? Sure, but in the end he was as greedy and liberal with the property and safety of others as were the other participants of the Lincoln County troubles. Without DNA evidence there is no way Roberts was the kid, just as Butch and Sundance didn't survive South America. If there are unknown photos fine, they are interesting, but hard to prove.

My name is McCarty. Billy's father was my great great grandfather's brother whose name was John McCarty. Billy was named after John's favorite brother whose name was William Henry McCarty. John McCarty died in Andersonville prison on 6 Nov 1864. He died of scurvy. Therefore Billy is my cousin a few (4?) times removed. Billy's grandfather was my great great great grandfather William McCarty B. 1803. I've got Billy's DNA running out of my ears in the Y chromosome.

Okay Michael all I could do is come to you because I know you're the one that knows more on these channels about billie the kid. I have a question about detective work that was done by Ken Mains. He said there was blood collected from the table that Billy's body was put on after he was shot. He said that we will learn about that later but I can't find anything on it. He had mentioned that the blood was tested and that soon we will know more about it. Have you found anything on that or have you heard of anything on that?

I read Pat Garrett's book 3 times and watched every docuseries out there on the kid including all of the famous Gale Coopers videos on the kid and I can tell you that Pat Garrett did not go to Fort Sumner to arrest Billy. He went to execute him and that is what he did. Pat told a lot of truth in his book but a few things were lies. He said Billy had a gun and he did not, he only had a knife that he was going to use for cutting beef for supper. History paints Billy as a law breaker but even the law, including Pat Garrett was corrupt.

This is not of the kid, nor any of his friends. None in fact even look a like. And the provenance is lacking too. The only thing that is right is the time period, it is around 1880. It is a cool photo too. Not many other photos show a croquet game in the old west around 1880. Clearly worth a lot more than the $2 paid for it.

Have you seen the photo of brushy bill Roberts taken during his 40s in his ranger uniform? He's wearing a pinky ring on the same finger as in the tin type. How many people then, after and even now, wear pinky rings. Ironic. Would he have planned all his life to come out as Billy the kid in his elder years? Unless there was truth to it. Ironic either way.

I think if he was genuinely Billy the kid, but knew others believed him to be left handed because of the photo, proving himself to be Billy the kid was a hard enough task, then proving the photo was wrong and Billy the kid was also right handed would have been another difficult challenge and he'd have been deemed a mad man. So he'd most likely, played along with the left handed scenenrio despite if he was genuinely Billy. Because people are fricking difficult 😂, and as a photographer pin hole cameras, tin types, egg yolk negatives, all create a reversed image. It's how light travels and how we capture it. It's known when he was at an event with a mayor of Lincoln he was accused of being right handed and that he was pretending to be a lefty.

The first pic isn’t Billy. Billy was never known to have a thick beard, sideburns or mustache. By all accounts he could barely grow one. And honestly brushy looks more like him than that guy by far. I don’t even see a resemblance. The wild jim French connection is extremely interesting. If proven to be the same Jim French, it gives a way for Brushy to have so much intimate knowledge of the Lincoln county war. I’ve never seen any logical argument on how brushy knew the intimate details he knew, many were thought to be wrong at the time and proven right later. Now, I don’t buy that it is the same, and if it were I doubt brushy would remember the stories that well. Or if the stories told would give him intimate knowledge of people, locations and even exact lay outs of buildings he could’ve never seen. So, I don’t think this is the explanation BUT if it’s the same Jim French than it’s the absolute best reasoning I’ve ever seen to account for some of his knowledge. Super interesting. As far as the Catherine and Michael McCarty family, why is it assumed that the father is Michael? I’ve seen the name Patrick come up far more often than Michael. Still very interesting though. I do wish he would deep dive to this level into brushy. For a future podcast get Brett hall if possible. Extremely knowledgeable on brushy and can give citations for everything. You’re not a believer, but I would love to hear you discuss this with a brushy expert. I would love to see you guys debate that subject. He might open your mind some. I’m not brushy believer, but I’m a brushy maybeliever. I think brushy’s story makes a lot more sense than Pat Garrett’s. And even if brushy isn’t Billy, Pat was still dishonest
@MichaelAnthonyGiudicissi
@MichaelAnthonyGiudicissi 16 күн бұрын
Brett Hall has refused every invitation to discuss Brushy or take part in a real trial to prove or disprove his story. So have every other Brushy "expert" in the world. Why? Because they know his story is BS.
@TrueFictionmusicproductions
@TrueFictionmusicproductions 16 күн бұрын
@@MichaelAnthonyGiudicissi I’ve seen very little evidence that his story is BS. I’ve seen much more that it’s real if anything and I use to be a straight up non-believer like you until years of deep research. I can’t speak as to people won’t do debates. A lot feel like they may not get a fair shot on other shows maybe. I watched your trial of brushy bill. I do wish Brett had partaken because I don’t feel like brushy well represented however, with you being the producer Any brushy expert might feel like you’re going to have final say on production and outcome and cut what you don’t want seen. Which is a normal for people without an open mind who choose one side or the other. There’s blind brushy believers and nothing you say would ever convince them otherwise. Im not one of those. But more often I find Garrett believers. They support his story, the end. If you don’t you’re wrong. And Pat was one shady dude. But a great detail of circumstantial evidences against Pat (not for brushy directly) is that the reward offer from Wallace directly said that adequate proof that it is Billy will be required. And Pat tried hard to get that reward after but didn’t try to have any proof. Pat didn’t take a photo of the bottom which was standard at the time. Absolutely standard. Didn’t try to take the body back which was often a normal, and sometimes they put them on ice and showed them off. Nope, immediate burial. No coroner report officially submitted. The one he tried to was rejected by the judge . And a member of the coroners jury even said the one he tried to pass off was fake and full of people who weren’t there There’s no death certificate There was offers of rewards for Billy elsewhere afterward He didn’t try at all to provide evidence though he tried hard to collect the reward. McKinney has said before the wrong man was killed. Poe said he thought it was the wrong man at first The man killed was destined to have brown skin even by newspapers. They said Billy dyed his skin… Garrett even addressed in his book why they thought Billy was Mexican in his book. Because he had a shaved head and spoke perfect Spanish. Lol. Poe and McKinney let Billy walk right by them is their story. And Billy saw them and didn’t fire? And the room was bright enough for Pete to see Billy had a gun and a knife when entering the room. But was so dark Billy couldn’t tell Pat Garrett had a fun literally inches away from him. Garrett’s whole book is full of lies. I don’t see why anyone would trust him honestly. Whether you believe brushy or not. And another interesting thing, so many members of families involved over the years have came forward and said it’s always been passed down in their families that Billy wasn’t killed And many many people said they saw Billy after he supposedly died. Maybe Billy was shot that night but honestly it makes more sense that he wasn’t.
