The best juggler I have seen by far. I saw him in a season at the 3000 seat Blackpool Opera House in the 1970s. He was so outstanding that I dont remember the star of the show.

So cool, amazing this is sixty years ago. Comparing today's riding to the 80s is endlessly different, be that bmx, mtb, trials. Then there's this, an additional 20yrs further back, yet these moves weren't the base standard come the 80s. It's a shame how this type of riding isn't normalised or has any interest in [in the UK]. I think today's trick riding in general will slowly be forgotten about and people will have lost interest completely.

For over 30 years these Adagio dance numbers were the hit of every Vegas and Paris Cabaret. Then the Corporate Progressives took over and these wonderfully beautiful dance acts were gone forever.
@Naftalinoff
@Naftalinoff 2 ай бұрын
Have they really gone forever? This is basically classical ballet adagio. They are not progressive enough?
@gregj831
@gregj831 2 ай бұрын
@@Naftalinoff The Progressives don't like males and females performing these dance numbers anymore. Male and Female adagios have been outlawed.
@Naftalinoff
@Naftalinoff 2 ай бұрын
@@gregj831 Sad if so. There are plenty of acrobatic adagios in circuses and varietes, but they more often use 'contemporary' choreography than classical. Perhaps graceless enough for progressiveness

@@Naftalinoff We seem to have a generation in control that prides itself on destroying everything that was good and beautiful. Nothing epitomizes this as much as the failure of the Lido. It failed because it lost its artistic imagination and went away from the things which made it so famous.

They are both from the same time. This kind of routine should have come from the vaudeville theater. Unfortunately, we should assume that vast majority of the vaudeville performers of the end of XIX and beginning of the XX century are lost for us. They were not caught on camera, and best what we can know about them are photos, newspapers advertisements and probably short critical reviews.
