@@carminefulviocannone8549 just make the most of it. I sold my mini a year and a half ago now and I still regret it to this day. I loved that car so much but hated the repair bills constantly.

Iv got a 2009 cooper s r56 oil light come on now won’t start had 2 mechanics look at it 1 said timing problems the other said electrical fault the engine turns over but don’t start in 2 minds to get rid of it sell it spares and repairs or just fix it can’t be assed spending loads on it

Great video - just bought a 2009 R56 model 70k which has averaged 5k miles last 5 years gonna do an oil change what do you think of an engine flush like liqui moly, does it do a huge amount in relation to cleaning out old gunk from low mileage driving and possibly not great oil changes ?

@@MarkRaynsfordPT I did have my oil flushed when I owned this mini a while back and I believe that did help get rid of old build up etc so it’s definitely worth having a go and liqui moly is a great brand. It’s definitely good to refresh everything if it’s only been driven a small amount over the past 5 years. Maybe do the battery as well if it hasn’t been changed in those 5 years

I had a 2021 with awful N14 engine. I took care of that car better than I took care of my own children. Still, the engine died. I sold it for parts. Then, I began a long search for another one, this time with the N18 engine. I finally found one, and the day after I bought it I got a check engine light. These cars are frustrating but the most fun car I have ever driven. Life is too short to own a reliable honda civic or toyota corolla

As someone with a 93 I’m gonna tell you this might be water damage to the ECU we had this same problem and it eventually progressed into the car missing on cylinder 3. It turned out a few of the resistors were fried on the board.

I had a 2012 copper s and just swapped to a 2019. I miss the 2012 because it was so much smaller and faster but it did have a lot of issues 😢

@@pedromadeira1634 mine turned out to be the valve stem seals. Basically burning oil. I had to top up the oil about a litre a month. The cost to get it fixed was more than £1000 I think as it’s a huge job. Ended up selling this car nearly a year ago now because it was so unreliable

It only pops in sport mode. I own a mcs 09. Mine doesnt pop because it doesnt have the sport button.

The reliability complaints you're talking about aren't necessarily true for 2011 - 2014 Cooper S with the N18 engine. Mine is a 2012 and other than regular oil changes, new plugs, air filter, water pump and cross pipe...VANOS solenoid... hasn't been bad at all for 130K miles. Mine doesn't burn oil, like at all over my 5K mile oil changes, reliably gets 34 MPG (and I don't drive it slow). I also don't know what you mean about the Aux input. It's worked with my android for when I used Google Maps. I do have the BMW cord for my old iPod Classic that has the split 30-pin USB connector and aux jack cable combined. The USB controls the iPod with the stereo and steering wheel controls, and aux cord is for the sound. I don't have an iPhone.

These pops were only heard on camera. You can hardly hear them in person unless you’re right up to the exhaust like my camera was
