Great BTS good job as a DOP! And the mercurys shine :) also one quick note about the diffusion frame as the car arrives and she steps out of it you can see the shadow of it and in the next wide it’s gone (obviously) but I’m curious why you left it on this shot.(maybe time frame was tight)
@paulcarrabbajr Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Shortest answer is time of day. The car stepping out scene was first shot of the day and the next wide was a last minute drone pickup that they got at the end of the day. By that time the sun has already shifted to practically behind the talent that comes out of the saloon (you can see it in the top down. That drone shot wasn’t supposed to be in the edit and was a last minute pickup by the director. Good eye though 👍

Is there any particular reason you opted to shoot in a harsh midday sun and not sunrise/sunset except for the title "High&Noon"?
@paulcarrabbajr Жыл бұрын
Availability on talent and budget. This talent specifically needed to be in the piece for the client and they only had midday availability. And budget only allotted for a midday. We wouldn’t have gotten all of our shots in a small window of sunrise or sunset in one day. Not the most ideal conditions but after scouting the location, the set was built with sun patterns in mind. It traveled from one end of the street, straight over head to the other. So it wasn’t too tricky to work with

Damn, is it possible to blown out anything on that camera ? I mean well done on controlling light etc. But that's sooooo creamy / super smooth roll off even for the area that you're not controling in the background !
