Also you don't find many in the bible that it would have been better if they weren't born. Just something to think about.

I view church buildings as nothing more than a mission field anymore, its only easier to reach some with the gospel than others(in theory at least). I think what the disciples realized that night(or seemed to) may be whats lacking in todays "body" of believers. Mainly that they didn't know what they were capable of(as the Bible teaches our hearts are deceitful). And they don't realize these things because they don't understand why we are all here, i think. That is why are you, (the thing you call your consciousness), a human as apposed to an Angel or a cat? As you said we take sinning lightly because we think God understands its too hard for us, we were born into circumstances beyond our control. Which is ultimately not having faith God can do all things but it has a root in ignorance. I wish i could give the answer in a simple post, but if i could would you believe it? Its in the Bible though, just not in church buildings.

I often find myself very jealous of the apostles, despite the suffering they endured, they were able to watch the church be born and grow. All ive seen is it falling away, and with it any hope of fellowship. Better to be a prisoner and beaten and to have a fellowship praying for you then to be free and well fed but alone.

Yeah, I definitely understand what you're saying. As The Lord has been dealing with me this week this message has given me some insight and direction, particularly from the place of personal need and prayer. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpmznaCEerqqoNUsi=eyNjheJTImHzaJOc We really have no idea how much mercy and need we have in these days... Interesting that wicked King Ahab called Elijah the troubler of Israel. Could it be that just as God has things set aside for holiness as well as things set aside for destruction, there is also a 'good' type of troubler like Elijah and a 'bad' type like Achish?

I'm sorry I wasn't there to hear you preach. This is the place that The Lord Jesus Christ is bringing us. I'm sitting here trying to explain how it works, but I can't. It's such an intensely personal thing to be walked out with The Lord. There is a glory to it but it is not the glory of men, but the glory of God. Thank you for preaching this message, Doug. But most of all, thank you Lord Jesus Christ for confirming this message through Doug.

It was kind of you to listen and comment, Mark. Thank you, also, for YOUR confirmation of what The Lord is doing. We've had conversations like this before, but when you look around and it seems like no one is seeing what you're seeing, it's a gift to know that you're not going mad! "It's not the glory of men..." I feel like this is where it hinges, in may ways... that we now believe when men are glorified -in the building of their empires, their content, their followers, their books and bibles - we now genuinely believe that's what the blessing of God looks like, but it's not. People are convinced of it, however, so it's very difficult to speak this Truth. Ultimately, it's prayer and intercession that will do the work. This is what I'm asking The Lord to help us do. The message I'm posting right now, Speak, Don't Strike, talks about this heart. As always, Thank you for your ministry! You're a blessing. God bless - Doug

I don't know about glory but I certainly relate to the suffering and loneliness that goes along with the least of us. If it weren't for that I doubt I'd have the humility to learn, in fact I know it.

Esau is one of the most fascinating people in the Bible. When I studied for my video about the enemy trying to rebuild the tower of Babylon, I felt drawn to understand the mystery of Esau's life. I found similarities between Esau, Nimrod, Ahab, Cain, and Judas Iscariot. I believe that Nimrod was the biblical example of the culmination of the archetype, but Esau was the example of the explanation of how to become like Nimrod; the 'prequel', if you will. And interestingly enough, according to the book of Jasher, Esau eventually became like Nimrod; the book explicitly states that Nimrod (edit: Esau) became a hunter of men. In your sermon "the tower is bigger than ever", you discussed Romans 8:19; the revealing of the children of God. Romans 8:19 is a sermon unto itself, but the discovery that I made that is seldom discussed in modern day church is that people with the character of Esau often walk side by side with the people of God; their true character is not revealed until the last second. I believe for this reason, this is a very important study. And obviously, it's incredibly important for us to examine ourselves, and come out into the light if any of the sins of Esau are present in our lives that you describe. And repent, obviously. Great teaching, thank you!

I really like your point about walking side by side. I see that God is presently pressing upon us... every one of us. His pressure is, and will be, exposing the abundance of error and the unveiling of the Flesh in His people. The church doesn't recognize that they're participating in Babel, but The Lord is going to expose it. It was kind of you to watch and comment, Mark. Thank you. I'm enjoying your first podcast.

I thank the Lord for you uploading this precious gem of a sermon/confession! And you appear to be the only person/group on the entire Internet that has made this message available! After I first saw this VHS video at a friend's (2004?) I tried to find it years later in 2011 and even Times Square Church said they did not have it in their archives! How sobering to think a mighty man of God like Wilkerson could be so blind for so many years as he confesses how for most of his life he saw Christ only as a head and not a body and how this resulted in him injuring many within His Body, the Church. Such an important message for those that have great zeal and passion like Wilkerson, but have a tendency to quickly condemn and cut people off prematurely.

It's a rare thing for any man to confess his failings and growth. Would to God we would all bind ourselves to this mindset. So many are living lies because of fear of exposure, when, in fact, the ministry of the Holy Spirit IS exposure. Walking in the Light as He is in the Light, this is a foundation of fruitful Christian life and ministry. I'm thankful for your thoughtful comment. I have a friend who was able to convert the VHS to DVD. We attended this conference in 2002. It was actually when the Lord called my wife and I into ministry. Certainly a life changing event. I use multiple messages from the conference in leadership and discipleship ministry.

As I have, also, recently been reflecting upon my existence, I have come to see that Sin has resulted in that foggy glass that distorts my ability to see how much Jesus smiles at me. One day, by His Grace and Mercy, I glimpsed Love fully, His Face smiling at me. His Face said it all: "I love you so very much! You are previous to Me! Just enjoy My Love by enjoying every minute of every day, telling everyone that I love them, too! I have labored and planned, so that you can simply be with Me and one another. Rest in Me. I love you." This whole experience liberated AND elevated me, through understanding that i am, already, precious to God and need "do," or "think," anything. I merely "need" to walk in His Love and to enjoy every moment, with thanksgiving, which is Love. If I "do," this, everything that I can possibly conceive of shall be pleasingly met and engaged in, according to God's Will. To be like Jesus is my only plea. I merely live, breethe, and have my being, in Jesus. I worry not, now, about anything. I have no ax to grind. Thanks be to God, through Jesus, Our Saviour. God bless you all, Dear Friends.

I feel like The LORD has shown me so many things over the past few months. I'll share one in particular: there is something wrong with the spiritual influence that modern day American Christianity is producing. There is an unhealthy level of reliance and trust on leadership that is really man centered as opposed to Christ centered. This is most blatant when leadership advocates for purpose or plans (dabar in the Greek) that oppose the character of Jesus, or opposes the teaching of scripture, or both. BUT- here is the important part- these things often manifest themselves subtly. Many times its what leadership doesn't say that is the problem, or in what leadership puts an unhealthy emphasis on at the expense of something important. Many times it presents itself in a neat little box with a ribbon on it. But not enough of us are looking under the ribbon to see what is REALLY inside of the box. At its root is a crisis of depth in the body of Christ, imo.
@NewBrothersTV10 ай бұрын
Yes, to everything you said. Its crisis The Lord has to deal with because the sickness its producing in the church is just like Isaiah 1... "Where will you be stricken again, [As] you continue in [your] rebellion? The whole head is sick And the whole heart is faint. From the sole of the foot even to the head There is nothing sound in it, [Only] bruises, welts and raw wounds, Not pressed out or bandaged, Nor softened with oil. " (Isaiah 1:5-6) Leaders can't speak about this because it means the necessary tearing down of what they've built. If it costs you every parishioner, it's better to return to Christ. Worst, possibly of all, is that normal church goers don't even know to look for something else. They're so conditioned to measure church leadership and ministry by what exists they can't even fathom looking for something else. But, I believe many people know there's something wrong,. God has to do something. I'm committed to that prayer. He is merciful and faithful. I need His mercy in every area of my life. God bless you, Mark! Thank you for commenting. Blessings to your family and your ministry.
