its a bit of a click bait you never mentioned that you need to shape the cookies before putting them in the oven. I have experienced making Chocolate Chip Cookies Without Butter a few times and all of them were subpar to the original(not very worth it), Chocolate Chip Cookies need the butter its not the same. Overall its a bad video and if you want to grow your channel this isn't the way to go about it, you need to be a bit more authentic be yourself. i subscribe to a person not a channel i don't get to "know" your personality, you delivered the lines like a cardboard box and it not very interesting. I am not here to hate or make you feel worse i just want to give constructive criticism. I hope you do well in the future and take my feedback into account : )
@TheCookingExperience.6 сағат бұрын
Thank you very much for the feedback. It's very helpful to hear from a different perspective. As far as shaping cookies the best way from experience for me is to use a cup. As soon as they come out of the oven move the cookie around in the upside down cup to shape it. Though I did not show it in the video. Chocolate chip cookies are better with butter, but this video was made intentionally not using butter. For someone who can't have dairy or doesn't have access to butter now has an alternative recipe. Thank you so much for watching the video and commenting. I hope you watch my other videos coming out soon and enjoy them!

@@TheCookingExperience. I understand i just think that you should be more transparent about the cooking process. No stone left unturned and all of that, like maybe providing more examples to what can be the substitute for the butter or what oil did you use (i know you used neutral vegetable oil but would like to know if you experimented with different kind of oils ), also is shortening a good substitute and ,more of a deep dive i feel.

What's ur opinion on using baking chocolate in brownies instead of cocoa powder?
@TheCookingExperience.6 күн бұрын
That's a great question! Typically I only use cocoa powder when baking brownies. Recently I have been testing out doing half and half (like in this recipe) and I have very much enjoyed the results. Though in general if you are only going to use one then definitely stick with the cocoa powder. I personally like the benefits of both... Thank you so much for watching and your insightful comment! Hi what s the difference between cake and all purpose flour? Are there any ingredients added? I m wondering if I could use one of them instead of both? Can anyone help me out please, thanks so much.
@TheCookingExperience.21 күн бұрын
Great question! So, cake flour has less protein (5-8%) vs. all purpose flour (9-11%). Cake flour also has a finer texture and is more powdery. As far as most recipes go you can substitute cake flour with all purpose flour. Though it is not advised to substitute it the other way round if you can ( pizza with cake flour is going to be more cakey than bread). I hope this answered your questions! Thank you so much for watching! If you liked this video then I suggest you subscribe so you do miss all future recipes!

Why do you use a combination of margarine and butter?
@TheCookingExperience.21 күн бұрын
Great question! It all comes down to their distinct characteristics and how they interact with the other ingredients during the baking process. On one hand, butter brings rich flavor, a tender crumb, and a golden hue to the cookies. Alternatively, margarine contributes moisture and a softer texture. When combined, butter and margarine strike the perfect balance. You'll end up with cookies that are flavorful, moist, and perfectly chewy. Thank you so much for watching! @TheCookingExperience.Ай бұрын
That’s a great question! I have never tried that before, maybe try an air fryer first. That might yield a slightly better result. If you have no other option then you can try it in the oven… it won’t be as crispy and I would advise you spray it with a bit of oil so it does not get a hard top like bread. Make sure to also let it rest on a cooling tray so it does not get soggy out of the oven. Make sure to let me know how it comes out if you give it a try!

This is a common myth. If you're cutting only vegetables there should be almost no dulling for a while. Make sure to refine the edge with a strop, most people experience a blades edge becoming dull because they're not cutting with the edge, but with the burr.

I use whetstones. I'm not an expert by any means but I often sharpen knives for people that ask me to. After soaking the whetstones, I use food grade mineral oil over the top of the stone and that seems to help out considerably. One thing I have noticed is that cheaper knives tend to be way hard to sharpen. I'm guessing it's the cheaper metal they're made of. Also, I've used several of the hand sharpeners where you pass the blade through a "V" shaped sharpener and while, in my experience, they do get sharper than what they were before sharpening, it seems to be a different kind of sharp. The knives I sharpen with the sharpeners never seem to pass the paper test while the ones I sharpen with a whetstone do and they can shave the hair off of my arm.
@TheCookingExperience.3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! If you enjoyed this video I highly suggest you subscribe, so you don't miss all future videos like this. You definitely sound like you know what you are talking about which is very good! Using oil on a whetstone while sharpening a knife is very good for it. If you don't have oil you can use water, but oil is definitely the prefered option over water. So keep up with how you are doing it, that's a very good method you have learned. We can make those cheap knives almost as sharp as most expensive knives, but not perfect… Cheap knives are often made from decent quality stainless steel, while it may not be the fancy high carbon, hardened steel found on more expensive knives good quality stainless steel still takes a great edge and can be sharpened to be extremely sharp. But the cheaper material will be harder to get a good edge on, So if you can stick with the expensive Knives... While there are various tools available to sharpen knives, whetstones are the most recommended tool by experts because they provide control and precision. Using a whetstone - or a sharpening stone - removes the least amount of material from the knife blade, which extends its lifetime. Once again, thank you so much for watching, subscribing and your very insightful comment!

You can experiment on your next batch and take out a cookie every other minute let them rest for 10 minutes, and then give them a try and see what you prefer... But I would suggest following the cooking time and heat that it says in the description and see what happens...
