I bought Hired History when this song first came out. Just listened to this again and forgot how brilliant this song is. Love the whole atmosphere of the song. The harmonies are stunning. This song has stood the test of time. Dated well. Love it. The guys should have reached the same level as the Pet shop boys.

This video is peculiar, in a good way. Anyone who remembers British children's television from the 1970s and early 1980s will recognise the unsettling strangeness!

Disagree good buddy, passionately supported doesn’t equal commercially successful. Look up their album sales compared to say Duran Duran. Definitely a band that was underrated , yet immensely groundbreaking and talented. Don’t hear Talk Talk on any 80’s stations but plenty of Bonjovi, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Whitney Houston, Wham and Eurythmics. Just sayin

@JackMellor4982 жыл бұрын
I have a lot of love and admiration for Fiat Lux. Alongside China Crisis, they’re the two 80s acts that I adore just because they seemed like ordinary chaps who might not have been the biggest bands ever, but they got the opportunity to make the albums they wanted to make, you know, they got a shot at fame to make their mark on music. They might not have been successful at all or for very long, but they actually got music made, that they probably had a lot of passion behind, you know. This song and Blue Emotion are genuinely two of my favourite 80s songs for that reason.
@nodarkthings Жыл бұрын
Didn't China Crisis have a fair bit of success? Less than they deserved though, same with Fiat Lux. It must have been frustrating!

Now we’re talking forgotten 80s. Stumbled upon these guys looking for other Yorkshire new wave acts that weren’t The Human League or Soft Cell. Glad to see they’re getting some decent recognition. Great music video too, a snapshot of what made the North before so much of it was grassed over or left to rust.
