hi thanks for sharing, I hope you had a merry Xmas and can look forward to a safe and happy new year, i loved the whole drive but the last 3 hours were the most amazing, is it up in the artic circle? it was like you saved the best for last. I would like to ask you the white/grey fences along the way that seem to have no purpose, what are they for? and as you drive along on the side of the road you see posters with drawings of people do you know what they mean? anyway thanks again I only wish that when you finished the drive you got out and panned the camera around to see what lies at the end of this amazing journey

Otta village was interesting...i mean, why almost every house is painted black. Is there some reason for that ?? Just ok color, i dont mean that.... and like in Norway... old red is very common. Its used here in Finland also....but more earlier times as anymore. (special way made, ====""Falu red or falun red is a permeable red paint commonly used on wooden cottages and barns in Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Wikipedia """ / Joyable clip from loved Norway, but i also (old driver) - missed that car-engine-sound. Thanks .

Wow! I’ve been wondering how people in such remote places deal with medical crises. So, an ambulance goes by with lights flashing, 2:54:45! Let’s see how far it has to go to get to a hospital.

I just checked the speed limits in Norway. They are in Kilometers and known to be the strictest in Europe. The reason for being strict is obvious in these drives, sharp curves, tunnels, and roads that are not fully two-laned.

And, Yes, I would like to join a Sunday Service in the church at 2:09:57. I don’t understand Norwegian but I understand churchese. A chance to celebrate the God-given beauty around me with people I can trust.

Wow. Grieg’s Lyric Suite just is now playing on my radio. He was born in Bergen and steeped himself in Norwegian folk music. I have some CDs of his music and will play them as I continue. He wrote this music over 100 years ago, but I can relate to it well while driving through this beautiful country.

Most Excellent. Thanks for the ride along. Your rig looks like it might be modified. A picture would be awesome. War wounds and all. They usually make the best off road rigs.

It’s not just the cabin that is beautiful, but the whole drive through the towns and countryside. I hoped to visit Florence, for the art museum and opera, so it is great just to savor its streets. The whole area is rich in history. Google maps describes Volterra as a walled mountaintop town which dates back to before the 7th century BC with structures from the Etruscan, Roman, and Medieval periods. We don’t stop to visit Volterra, but it’s just one of the historic places we pass through. Thank you for sharing!

Wow! What a wonderful drive through the Alps. In the 1980s, I attended three economists’ meetings in Alpbach. I drove down from Munich and back, enjoying the mountains. And, on the afternoons off, I drove several tours over mountain roads, even as far as Salzburg, soaking up the scenery. You have chosen a most mesmerizing route through a lovely area of Austria. Mountain Memories!

It takes a lot of guts to upload a video of driving in the rain, but the scenery is so beautiful that once I began watching I forgot all about the rain. Indeed, as one who has often driven in the mountains of New England in the rain, I felt very much at home.

I’m pleased to find this wonderful drive, from the historic city of Milan to the beautiful scenery around Lake Como. Yes, the traffic is slow at times, but you can take the time to focus on what is around you. And then heading into the mountains at the end. A mesmerizing experience! I’ll be back.
