I bet there are many Indo’s who have watched this and cringe listening to you two attempt to pronounce each dish, it’s embarrassing to watch. It’s not hard to ask the owners how to correctly pronounce a dish….a little research goes a long way.

Most of the indo food outside indonesia are not spicy as the original, it follow the local taste where the resto placed.

Glad you tried the Korean black bean sauce noodles (Jajang Myun). That is a real favourite throughout Korea even as a worker's lunch. Despite its Chinese origins, it is a must try if you are in Korea.

Great video. Couple clarifications. 1) You missed an important point on scorpions in Nicaragua. They are not deadly. I've been stung three times. It is very painful like maybe the worst the worst bee/wasp sting ever. But you will not die or need medical assistance. 2) San Juan Del Sur Beach is very safe. I've walked it many times during day and night time with my wife. But SJDS is a massive party town during national holidays. That is when the pickpockets and criminals from Managua arrive by bus looking for opportunity. Just be very careful and stay near the beach restaurants. Lots of helpful folks there looking out for you. Avoid being in dark alone areas anywhere during festivals. 3) The pace of Nicaragua is slow with a flip side. For example, expect slow service at many restaurants, but also expect never to be rushed away from your table. Most will not even bring you your bill until you ask. They will let you stay as long as you wish, enjoying the sunset perhaps. Tan tranquilo!

I remember the Indo restaurants on Anzac Parade. I was a student at UNSW in the early 1980s and towards the end of the 1990s, I worked at the Pizza Hut delivery unit that was further along the road in Kingsford. We had a lot of Indo uni students as our drivers and kitchenhands and the manager and I would send the guys out to buy us dinner from one of these places. Sometimes we'd order particular items, and other times we'd tell them to get something they thought we might like. "You want spicy, boss?" Sure, just not paling pedas (really spicy, like they like it!)- maybe chilli on the side!

I love lakes! Is there a town there and is it livable?
@BucketListTravellers5 күн бұрын
Hi Lynette, yes there is a small town there. For furniture you may need to go further afield, but there are shops for most day to day items.
@lynetterosario56975 күн бұрын
LOVE the video! How livable is Himare? You didn't say how you got from beach to beach, was it by bus (van)? I looking to retire to Albania on a shoe-string budget, Any suggestions? I don't want a car.
@BucketListTravellers5 күн бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! We walked from beach to beach. There is a track but it is around 5km. It is definitely possible to live in Albania on a shoestring budget, however the public transport is not well developed. If you retire to places like Himare then you will need to rely on vans/buses that pass through the town sporadically and not always to a schedule. That said, Himare is a beautiful spot to live, it has all the basic amenities you need (groceries etc..) and outside of the peak summer period of July-August, it would be very peaceful.

If you would like to visit high-class shopping malls, I suggest heading to Mid Valley Southkey, undoubtedly the no.1 mall in the whole state of Johor, and in the top 20 of Malaysia. And of course, there's also Toppen, (Includes an IKEA in it) as well as AEON Tebrau (right next to Toppen) and Paradigm Mall. For me, these 4 malls are the best that the state of Johor has to offer. And you should really visit Mid Valley, if you're looking for some good deals on famous brands. And FYI: Galleria Kotaraya, is only visited by Johoreans for passport renewal/identification card stuff. R&F Mall is a pretty nice mall in terms of design, but somehow it's mostly a dead mall, with most shops closed or unavaliable. And lastly, City Square Mall is an "okay" mall but it's mostly catered to Singaporeans but still in the top 10 for me and just wondering, did you visit Komtar JBCC Mall? because it's linked by a bridge to City Square Imaoo.
@BucketListTravellers5 күн бұрын
Hi @SazifyTheMonkey , thank you so much for your recommendations! We didn't get the chance to explore further beyond City Square Mall this time around. We would love to explore more of JB next time. Thanks for watching!

Why she can’t believe that roman arenas do exist in France ? The roman empire was not just the city of Rome or Italy. France was as much part of Roman empire than did other latin countries such as Italy or Spain. We are not appart of that culture, we also are a latin country. If you want to understand France you have to understand that the core of our culture is roman-based (language, religion, wine, food, etc.) so, that is not surprising at all. Also, the south half of France, by its geography, always had been the « bridge » between Italian and iberian peninsulas (Italy does connects with Spain only passing by France), so we are the middle, the geographic core of latin Europe. 90% of our culture is a derivation of roman’culture, the Gauls did not left us much actually, despite all the mythology about them (and they we not actually autochtonous either, they happened to rule most of the territory a few centuries before we had been integrated to the Roman empire.

We have to plead ignorance on this. In Australia we don't get taught much of European history beyond WW1 and WW2. It is only through experiencing it first hand that we gain a proper appreciation of the history.
