I had a massive Catalpa tree removed from my front yard about 15' from my house. There was no way I would have considered taking that down by myself. I paid a professional $1600 and they used a 100' bucket truck and surgically removed it from the top down in three cuts. Buy once, cry once.

Pulling in a certain direction with a rope is no guarantee that the tree will fall that way. My husband and I found that out the hard way too.
