We started home school but honestly don’t know if we’ll continue. Might end up in private school.

Even though my children were always in mainstream public schools, we were a military family and moved every 3-4 years. We found that our kids were always ahead or behind academically and the transition in either case is very difficult. If they were ahead they were bored, if behind they struggled and were lost. Plus on top of that they were the new kids having to navigate the social side making new friends finding their place. The good news is that these life changes and struggles made them become strong and flexible and very capable of facing life. God is good!

You beautiful, sweet woman! I think the greatest struggle with homeschooling is the pressure we often feel of whether we are doing enough. I have to continuously cast that care onto the Lord because He cares for us. He knows our innermost longings and hears our prayers in the middle of the night. We all want our children to be prepared for life and the challenges of life. When we feel that pressure, we pressure our children. I have to constantly remind myself to relax and enjoy the time together with them. The greatest gift about homeschooling is the time we gain with our children. I want them to have fond memories. I found that the more pressure I felt and put on them, the less we all thrived, but the more I let go and trusted, the more we all thrived. The kids would want to read books and learn on their own without being asked. And when we'd take a break from structured work, I'd notice how much they'd learned in that time period. Like a truly measurable difference! I think many people give up because they feel that they have to educate their children the same way the public schools do, but we live in a different time and place and we shouldn't feel that we have to keep the old mold and patterns of the past. Our children have access to information now that we never had as children. They don't have to go to a library to find an answer to a question. The answer is at their fingertips. While I am teaching them how to use a computer, they have limited access to the internet. We don't have cable or movie channels, and they don’t have video games. This prevents them from getting consumed in all the distractions and therefore they desire to read. Every family has different dynamics and different needs, and we should all feel the liberty to adjust things in our lives as necessary. It's not a one-size fits all life. It's a tailored life, and we have the opportunity to design it in the way that best suits all our family's needs. Let's remember too that knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. It's not about the knowledge we can give them as much as it is about the love! Let's not allow the world's standard of gaining knowledge rob us from the time we get to just love on our children and teach them wisdom. Ohhh I just want to give you a hug. This is such a healthy and honest video. I literally LOL'd about the "weird" kids. haha. I was weird too (in public school). But yeah the "math gap" is real. Its ok to recognize your limitations, and the limitations of your community in helping fill in gaps. You're precious. I'm enjoying this series and looking forward to seeing where you ended up. :)

I'm enjoying these videos on this transition! I have no idea why KZbin has filled my feed with moms like you who are transitioning to school. We're a private school family. My husband is a Principal at a Christian HS school and my kids attend Christian primary school. Maybe the Lord has me learning how to support you all! IDK. But actually, the objective data out there is most favorable for Private School over the other two broad options for most every marker, social and academic. That's not comfortable for homeschool moms, and for some reason even in Christian circles no one wants to talk about that either! You're in a good place for this season. It was a spirit led decision, and you can trust the direction the Lord has taken your family. His leading is best for your children whatever that option ends up being. Also, He might lead to make a different change in the future! Just keep walking it out with the Lord. He can work through so many different options! <3 Blessing from Israel sweet mama!

Hair loss, whether it be from pregnancy or not, is usually due to iron deficiency anaemia. If you haven’t already, get some iron supplements into you and also some biotin, which is a B vitamin.

You should have done a second application because your lengths and ends were bleached so this application acted as a filler. With bleached and blonde hair, you need to ‘fill’ the hair first before applying the colour.

My husband and I are both Active Duty Military and we have our struggles, but I think God is NOT calling me to honeschool. I wanted to know if this was just me and I was wrong about homeschooling, bceause many homeschool advocates talk about it like you MUST hoemschool in order to fulfill your children's best interests and ANYONE can do it even if you think you can't. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees that it’s not that simple. God doesn't always call all of us down the same route
