This Indiana football team was fun to watch and root for all season and they achieved stuff that no other Indiana football team was ever able to do!! NO ONE picked them to have an eleven win season!!! Future looks bright!!

Great album, and sounds amazing as well. It’s very interesting to hear the old version of Indiana Fight, some trumpet & clarinet parts have been rewritten throughout the years since. I also think that the band should revisit that uniform design, it looks good with the marines corps style cover. Better suited than the typical shako the band wears today - but that’s just my 2¢.

My selection for the Marching Band of the day today, November 9, 2024, is the Indiana University Marching Band!!! 🎉🏈🎉 The Marching Hundred has had an amazing season and has a tough game this week against Michigan. With a day full of performances the Hoosier Marching Athletes will be getting the crowd and squad ready on the push towards the perfect season and being undefeated!! 😎🎶🥁🎉🎶🎉🏈🎉

Thank you so much for sharing your recordings! Each of our two children spent all 4 years of college in the band as well as my husband back in 1985-90. The band is still the best part of football game days for me! I appreciate being able to watch when we cannot attend in person. Thanks for all you put into posting these!

Here's the Charlotte pregame, rescued from the brink of oblivion, arriving five days late but better than never! I accidentally deleted this video shortly after it was recorded, and since then I've been spending a large chunk of my spare time trying to wrench it free from the grip of my SD card's virtual landfill. My efforts eventually paid off, and now it's here to view! There's a bit of minor corruption from about 7:00 to 9:00, but aside from that the video is intact. The off-center framing in the National Emblem/monogram IU section has nothing to do with the deletion, I just made a mistake. I think the bright sun made it hard to see the misalignment. I'll do a better job this weekend. This recovery was made possible by a piece of software called Klennet Carver, which pieced together the deleted video from 42 fragments scattered across my SD card's free space. If you ever need to recover photos or videos you accidentally deleted, it's $40 well spent!

I believe Cornell was the first school to use that melody for their Alma Mater. The Hundred started playing this arrangement in 1960, arranged by associate director George Roach. A different arrangement was used from 1967-1973, and in 1974 director Ray E. Cramer re-arranged the Roach arrangement for modern instrumentation.

UPDATE: I recovered the pregame video. It'll be up soon! [Original comment] Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to post the pregame show from this game. Much to my disappointment and frustration, I seem to have accidentally deleted the video shortly after recording it. I've been trying various data recovery methods (such as R-Photo), but none have turned up the video. When the official Marching Hundred channel posts the pregame this week, I'll add the video to my 2024 playlist to fill the gap. I unmounted my SD card as soon as I discovered my mistake and made a bit-perfect backup of the card, so if I end up recovering the pregame I'll post it here. But that seems increasingly unlikely. At least it was a pregame and not a halftime! This pregame was the same as the previous two this season, aside from the visitors' fight song and Ross's announcement of the halftime theme. I'm deeply sorry for this mistake and I will not repeat it.

Usually when they leave out the plumes, it's because there's a chance of rain. I'm guessing that by the time it was clear that it would stay dry, the decision was already made. They had plumes at today's game.

Rushville bass drum here. I originally didn’t want to go, but going just made a whole different view on band and music it’s self, IU sounded amazing, if you looked up a band arrangement song and played it, that is exactly what they sounded like! It was a great experience and I’ll probably go next year, loved hearing everyone and watching people with their different outfits, instruments, and harnesses(just percussion lol). It was super cool to be there and just hear everyone, drum line went crazy too. Bass out✌️

Also bass drum that was there from one of the other high schools, I had a soccer game that morning and our drum tech forgot my harness at the school, their solution was to tie bungee cords around my neck connected to the drum. Had a great time but the neck pain afterwards was something else

Shelbyville High School’s drum major here! It was such an amazing experience to perform with the Hundreds and all the other high schools yesterday! Thank you for the wonderful 4 years I got to have an IU band day! Hoping to join you all on the field next year :)

Why did the third cymbal crash move on the SSB? Since Wilbur was here, it was in a distinctive spot that only the Hundred used to play (two beats later). Now it is being played like every other band that ever played the SSB. I noticed as soon as I heard the anthem and stopped to put in this comment. Please ask the guys in charge on behalf of an old Hundred guy. I know they know, and we noticed immediately. It's like Wilbur tapped me an the shoulder and called me a dull tool if I didn't leave this comment. Thanks to "RPH" for the great video, as always.

I'll bring this up with the directors at Homecoming. The Hundred got a new SSB arrangement in 2021 and there has been some recent turnover in drumline leadership, so it might have just gotten overlooked somewhere along the way. What spot was it specifically, on what lyric did the special cymbal crash occur?

Most likely not an arrangement thing, as we always taught SSB by rote on the drumline (my last year with IUDL was the 2022 season). Something may have gotten lost in translation between last year/this year though. I’ll reach out as well to see if they changed it on purpose or by accident

If you're wondering why the football team's tunnel entrance is missing, it's because the DJ covered up the fight song with loud copyrighted music.
