Its a no brainer it cost 40$ a shear to get sharpen each so why not a new one for 50$ a year.

You mention that there is monthly subscriptions. What happens if you don’t want to turn them in during those specific time frames? Can you still exchange them. Like maybe after 1 year. I’m asking bc I’m using them on my personal hair and I don’t think they are going to loose sharpness right away.

@@MoeMoe-do1fd I’m not sure if you can exchange them without the subscription, I’d call them and ask. But even if you can’t they’re super affordable just as one time buys for whenever you need to get new ones

@@j223oey6 honestly the only con I can think of is just not getting them sooner. 11 months with this company and I have no regrets. Already on my second pair thanks to the swap out subscription option, no complaints whatsoever. Their customer service is great too. Definitely ditch the Hanzo’s

@@bigquann2011 to my knowledge they don’t have matching purple trimmers, but if you check out the NIGHTFALL colorway they do have a metallic purple one

Try using the oster diamux DLC blades instead of that off brand 3 1/2 blade u got on it , that'll help ur heating up problem.

You should never do clipper over comb with any clipper open. Also, this clipper is not for long blades with clipper open. That's for most clippers closed. Use a 6 blade with the Apex closed over 5 with the open. There's such a little difference in length.

Hey thanks it’s the Jellyfish from Swatch ⌚️ I haven’t gotten the newer version but I will assume that it’s good, shavers don’t really change too much. These work as well as my original Andis lithium shavers I got 10 years ago

Keep them oiled and sprayed with the disinfectants that should help a little bit. If it came with the cam adjuster for the blades you should be able to reduce the noise that way too. They do get loud as time goes on but these tricks have helped me to get them a little quieter

Yo Fern! Just recently found your channel and I had a question/advice. So, I'm starting barber school this February and I'll be commuting a little over an hour to get there. I'm from a small town of 5k people and we have 1 barber here who's in his 50's. He's got an old-style shop and people complain about his hours and that he's never open and when he is he will cut 5 people and then shut down/won't take any more people. We also have a few cosmetologists/salon places here. I've been thinking about my plan after school, and I thought about taking a 10-15k max business loan out to start a solo barbershop right out of school. I want to bring a new style barbershop to my town and have a more "city" theme to it. Reach more of the younger generation and people from a big city. I'm 23 and our town is in the mid-west so it's kind of country, but we're getting more and more people from bigger cities moving here. Just let me know what you think, and any advice thanks!

That’s awesome to hear congrats on wanting to become a barber and wanting to start your own shop! My advice would be to finish school, and work in a shop for a while and gain experience as well as build up a bit of a clientele first. It might take a couple years but you have a vision of what you want your shop to be like and you won’t lose that. Especially because you’ll be just starting school and new, use social media to document your progress and grow your brand from the beginning, people love to get in on the ground level and feel like they’re apart of your journey. There’s a lot of great people on KZbin to learn from about doing just what you’re talking about, so be a sponge and try to absorb as much information about everything as possible. But above all else, my best advice I can give is work hard and stay humble. It’s that simple. Take care of your clients and this trade and it will absolutely take care of you

This clipper has a shortage in the on/off button and it has to much power for the fade blade so if you decide to buy change it to a taper blade.

The cordless Master is pretty much exactly the same as the corded, but man are these things LOUD. Which is a shame because that’s literally the only bad thing about them :/

I went from corded 76, masters and Andis trimmers. Now I got the octane and some babyliss trimmers now I’m looking for a wireless tool like the Andis masters but I don’t want the wireless masters I hear bad things about them .do you have anything you would recommend looking for something close to the wired masters?

Honestly I’d look into either the Apex from Stylecraft or the Troll from TPOB, those are pretty comparable to the corded masters. It’s a shame about the cordless Masters, they’re a great clipper but just SUPER loud

I’m sorry to hear that happened to you. They are a bit tough to deal with/ get ahold of and more than likely I won’t do more business with them. Once you do get the box everything is great, but the wait and the non-responsiveness on their end is unfortunately the reputation that precedes them

Hello and good morning to you Leonel! Between the Apex and the BaByliss Pro FX, I would say that the Pro FX is what I prefer. However it is definitely the more expensive option. Both clippers are pretty powerful and well balanced but between these two particular clippers I think that the BaByliss has more versatility. The choice is ultimately yours, I do have both and love them both. But half the fun is trying out new equipment and seeing how you like it.
