Very cool instrument Dale. I purchased a used Republic resonator yesterday and it has the palm trees graphics also, but it was listed as a triolian and looks like 12 fret, different headstock too. Do you know if and when Republic made this as a triolian? Curious because it's a used instrument and possibly listed wrong as triolian, maybe a duolian. Is there a visual difference, that I can see when it is delivered?

I also have a semi-hollow ASAT Classic, and for that’s the ideal tone recipe. I am trying to become a chord melody jazz player and it allows me to somehow channel both Ed Bickert and Grant Green in terms of timbre. Ability… that’s a different story. Leo somehow combined every single coil pickup with the MFD, and I do think the semi-hollow construction brings some extra sauce to the table. I barely think about other guitars now.

@@DLawrenceMarketing … I assume you’re going to do some slide guitar on it. 13s really sound good on the wood body Gretsch spider bridge guitars. @@idobro Definitely playing slide on the Boxcar. I'm thinking 14 gauge but I wanted to try 16, concerned about too high tension, don't want to warp anything or do another set up. I watch your videos daily. You're a skilled gentleman

@@DLawrenceMarketing … I use a 14-59 set on a thick-neck Tricone, and when I do, I tune it down to Open C chord. I always buy packs of 16s for my number one string on any of the guitars, and I often use 12s, replacing only the first string. I’ve always liked the snappy lead guitar kind of sound playing through fender amplifiers. I feel better with a little bit lighter set.
