A question reguarding building a home (which involves buying land of course) Since a non Philippino can not own land in their name (but at best have their name listed on the deed as the spouce) Where would that leave the expat in the case of divorce, and all monies involved were provided by the expat. Could the wife (non financial contributor) refuse to sell the home? If not, what would happen to the proceeds if a sale took place. Would it be split 50/50. An expat shoud know this before he falls in love and empties his retirement account. Naturally we all hope that the couple live happily ever after, but sometimes this may not be possible. You shoud address this subject for those considering moving there and want to find a mate and have a real home with land. It would make for a popular video I'm sure.
