Yep. My APU quit working with 20k miles on the truck. Had to push tractor supply in to keep truck idling. It's not the safest thing but I also need to sleep.

I currently have a 24. 20k miles on it with an APU. APU no longer works and truck won't idle. I have to release the tractor brakes for it to idle. Not the safest thing to do but I have to sleep at some point. Just make sure your trailer brakes work properly.

Im a 2021 Freightliner. Pushung in parking brake has always worked in every Freightliner ive had but now all the sudden yesterday it started deciding to do an idle shutdown anyway after 30min of brake pushed in. So im yrying to figure something else out.

OFF- cranks once batteries are under 12.2V. Runs for 2 hours. ON- cranks based on interior temperature. The temperature is controlled by sleeper temperature gauges.

2018/2019 Cascadia DD15 stick shift (Shut down programmed 5 min.) Set idle speed 750-800 rpm with cruise control steering adjust (NOT 1000 rpm) Might need also to leave trailer switch ON (abs or PTO for trailer) ________________________________ If NOTHING works for you: pull trailer brakes, push tractor brakes buttons (idle rough at 550-600) will be better than nothing. _______________________________ In the old days, we used to set low idle and depress CLUTCH PEDAL once or twice BEFORE initiating high idle with cruise control: that was a way for a mechanic to tell the computer to once BYPASS the shutdown timer. Some newer models, it won't work. Some other trucks: it WILL work from the THIRD try (shutoff/restart) Others you engage a gear, then you put back in neutral then run the idle procedure. Good luck, comments for those other tricks are welcome as a reply, tks ! (If I find a better way, I'll gladly post it here as an edit to the answer)

Company swapped me out for a different piece of shit truck. The air brake method does not work with this truck, neither does the idle rev up or the Optimized Idle... so literally the only way to keep the truck running for more than 9 minutes when parked, is to tap the fuel or tap the Override button... it sucks!!!
