I really loved how Reese Witherspoon tried in this movie. Like, this clip, too.

If the boy she liked did not plan Harvard, she would not have. If these girls were not mean, nasty, and jealous, Elle would not have studied so hard. Elle uses her frustration to strive. It happens all the time and many people lose the battle. Don't give what these nasty people want.

I can’t understand how the casting for the college student roles went to actors old enough to have a child in college and how everyone who watched the movie when it came was just ok with that.

I kind of felt sorry for warner in parts. Bad stuck up upbringing. He clearly loved elle but wanted to please his stuck up parents. Ended up with the kind of girl his parents woule approve of. He tired to be nice in this part and it was the others who was mean

Speaking as a medical science student with Autism I find uni very confronting because they have no clubs that I like and I am mature aged student in my 30yrs compared to these fresh out of high school students. I do struggle, but I have amazing parents who support me and support network that has helped me through it. The one thing that I struggle with is getting when you are in class you think you are smart, but at the end you feel belittle because I never studied chemistry in high school or professors put me down because they want me to study blood work for Haematology. It is hard, but I have to push through.

Respect to Warner for speaking up for Warner at least a little. In fact, given the rest of his behavior in the movie, it’s really uncharacteristic of him to be so accommodating toward Elle.

I remember a show called Night Court. The first episode had everyone trying to figure out how the quirky judge got the job. He explained that they were trying to find someone at the least minute to hire and that they'd called everyone on the list but no one answered. He was the last name on the list but the only one home so it was his. When they scoffed at the fact he was last on the list he pointed out he might have been but he was still on it.

She is always polite and friendly, no matter how much they snub her. She is so much more mature than any of them. And she doesn’t allow other people’s negativity to hold her back. I love Elle! She’s a true heroine.

That’s why satan wants to ruin femininity. Because he knows the inherent power of women in our feminine essence which is something feminism never valorised or appreciated. He knows women allowed to be women - sensitive and gentle and caring will thwart his plans for the destruction of mankind. He wants women to be rough and men delicate because effectively you have an entirely emasculated culture then and one that cannot easily stand up to tyrannical government. It will be too enervated and weak. So he wants female headed households which statistically lead to high rates of criminality, delinquency and from whom many prisoners in the criminal justice system have derived.

Mostly, women are mistreated, humiliated and threatened by women. But all what feminists do is fighting against men. Maybe because they hate other women as well.

For everyone talking about the hypocrisy of Enid having a degree in women’s studies yet treating Elle terribly because she’s feminine: the whole “before you voted against me and called me a dyke behind my back” comment she makes is kind of specific, and I think it indicates that she’s projecting onto Elle the cruelty that “girly” popular girls/women have shown her in the past, simply because of the way Elle looks. I actually think it’s a great character choice because it shows that even people who pride themselves on sharp intellect and judgement can be heavily influenced by personal emotions and past hurt.
