I’ve been wailing on my tesla (M3P) mercilessly for three years straight. I’ve been through four sets of summer tires. Daily drags. Winter and summer temps .Compared to my previous gas cars zero parts broken. no blown clutch no turbo rebuild no seized water pump. No internal transmission issues no cracked heads no valve train issues . Just beat it and plug it in. One difference is the performance in winter versus summer. Electric cars like a nice warm battery pack. 130°F. Is perfect for drag racing. Gas cars hate heat . less dense air.+Overheating issues too. For drag racing, summer is better in EV. You can always just precondition the battery in winter time to warm up, but that just takes up energy.

How is a 1940 Buick Special for a conversion candidate ? A friend of mine is looking into it and wanted me to ask you about the installation, only needs 100-150km range. Saw that you're a dealer from Fuel2Electric
@519Kustomz14 күн бұрын
Yes sir! that sounds very doable. I would have to find out the trackwidth and wheelbase as a good starting point. I try to only take on projects that I can build a whole engineered chassis solution for though. It is a bit more cost wise but I really think you get a way better car in the end.
@onetobe799816 күн бұрын
Wow, I will be doing a 64 of this, only rear-drive. I have an EV company in Iowa and we are launching our conversions in 2025. if interested ill come back and link our channel when we launch fully.

Thanks for showing all the design and also fabrication steps! Do you think that someday you will make the battery box part of the frame?
@519Kustomz14 күн бұрын
It makes more sense to me for it to be a removable part. Kind of future proofing the car as battery tech evolves. I can remake another battery box that fits inside the frame way easier that modifying the whole chassis.

I am sure you have considered a frame rotisserie to make some of the welding easier on the battery box. Maybe for higher production rates. Counter balancing might be a challenge as you add motors and other heavier parts.

@519KustomzАй бұрын
I have definitely heard of some manufacturers sueing and having cars destroyed. I think it is not as prevalent where I am in Canada, but if you badge the car and try to pass it as something it is not I can see where they would get grumpy.

Feverishly waiting for new videos. I enjoy the technical details a lot. I am assuming you are using Tesla motors. What are using for the inverter part? Thanks.
@519KustomzАй бұрын
Yes Tesla motors. The inverters are still Tesla but a fellow Canadian company, ingenext, provides the inputs to make the inverters work.

@dbc1052 ай бұрын
Given you are going to be driving 2 motors, what are you anticipating the watts per mile on just normal driving will be? I know a Ford Lightning has been privately tested at about 2.1 miles per kwh, and a Model 3 getting just over twice that. I know you can't have a true answer without testing but I figure you have a target you would like to hit or get close to. My guess is in the 3s somewhere and I'm not basing that one anything but guess that the car will be much lighter than a Model 3 but it has 2 LDU in it. I'm watching so I'm sure we'll all know at some point, I'm just curious if you had any plans on this. Thanks for sharing another cool build.

Little Datsun White Zombie and its Mustang Black Zombie successor were the ultimate sleepers over a decade ago! Teslas beat Vettes on the regular. Lucid Sapphires are now even faster, and overall better luxury cars made with love by the original team Elon screwed over after hotrodding Lotuses. I'm surprised yours is about the only channel on this. If I was building a rod, it'd be a 4wd with those new Yasa Motors axial flux electrics on a full tubed frame, with a carbon fiber body kit for maximum power to weight. Tesla swapping is a lot faster (not actually, accidental pun) way to do it without engineering a full car from the ground up.
