Yes! Marie Kondo really inspired me, too! I think I started decluttering even before the pandemic, and it is definitely life-changing! I love my simplified home! I enjoy watching KZbin videos about decluttering, especially from The Minimal Mom, Clutterbug, and Dana K White.

Great video. I really never understood the concept of using the tower blocks bc it seemed like so much effort to achieve a cheaply made piece. It just seemed to make much more sense to get a piece of good lumber and achieve a quality product. Just my opinion 😊 😊😊

Habitat for Humanity is a great place to get wood in their section where they’ve had it left over from building a house they come and bring it there so that’s a great idea

I’ve never used them, but I’m guilty of you buying their wood and I don’t need to when there’s so many wood companies around my area and I should’ve known better. I could go right there and get real wood so I’ll back you up 100%.

I'm with you 100%! If I'm going to take the time to craft, why in the world would I use cheap base materials???

I definitely have never used the DT signs for re-crafting, too cheap, the jenga blocksbi ONLY used for stand holders and I always use E6000 to get a GOOD hold. The calenders and stickersbi use for my Journaling and things like that. I am working on opening a little spot in a place to sell things and I do not want to try and sell cheap things, or rather things that look cheap.

If they continue, they'll have to change their name to Dollar$ Tree....

A $1.50 for a calendar is cheap compared to Walmart which are $5

I appreciate this video so much! I avoid dollar tree products because I find that I can make better quality products with materials from other places. Also, I get the tower blocks from Amazon which is cheaper if you need bulk! 😊❤

I did buy a bunch of the calendars when I found them this time, and after looking at them, realized I probably won’t use any of them! 😞 It took hearing you say this to make me think about it. I did quit buying the signs and wood blanks because I’ve been raiding my husband’s scrap wood for free. You made some great points that will help us all!

I stopped buying the calendars and stickers also.

We never have the wooden tumbling blocks or most things seen on crafting videos, at my Dollar tree.

Don't you just hate it when they say let me know what you think, they want compliments, and they don't want to hear real opinions. If you got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all? like bad hair days we can have bad crafting days, today's video must have been one of them.

I have to agree with you. I usually buy the calendars to give for Christmas gifts but this year I was not impressed with the pictures or the paper. And a lot were the same as last year. And the signs I can point out lots of reasons why not to buy but the number one is you can’t use them outside. And the window clings are awful this year. If it cost a dollar or a dollar fifty makes no difference if it’s made cheap. If I put time and money into a project I want it to last a couple of years. Good points. Have a wonderful year crafting.

I agree totally that Dollar Tree quality has been going downhill for some time now. I have DT ornaments that I purchased years ago that are made well, look like higher end ornaments, and only cost me a dollar. I think so many of there items look cheap, are cheaply made and don't make for higher end looking decor. Like so much these days, the prices have gone up but there is no quality anymore. I have never used the blocks for large projects, because they really don’t look great. They look awful if you stain them, because the grain is wonky, and they don’t look much better painted. I don’t think I’ve used window clings since the early 2000’s, and only on my windows. I agree about the signs, they are just cheap looking, and adding paint just doesn’t improve them a whole lot. They certainly don’t look “high end,” in the end. I have never used stickers on a project, either, as I don’t think they look very “high end,” either, they usually look cheap, and, well, like a sticker. I have not really used the calendars, either. I don’t know, I guess I like unique things, and if everyone is using it, it certainly isn’t unique. I agree, Canva, as well as Creative Fabrica, is the best way to make beautiful images.

I agree. And even if you don’t want to buy lumber from a home improvement store, you would probably be better off thrifting a nice solid piece of home decor, and making that over. Then you’re using up something that was already created and repurposing it rather than pushing dollar tree to produce more and more of these signs.

I stopped using alot of dollar tree items, I can get alot from Hobby Lobby, for not much more if you know the sales.

I quit using their wood blanks. they are a giant waste of money. You can buy and eight foot long 1" x 2" for $2.50 at Menard's.

Awesome video! I think most crafts made from dollar tree items look like cheap knockoffs. Not all do, but a lot of tnem. You're not going to get a high end look using cheap materials.❤
