I'm not sure if they sell them loose. Honestly, maybe try AliExpress or something similar? If you have an XTR lever or something nice, you might be able to get one off of a cheaper lever? Although I'm not sure if they are identical, although I'd be surprised if they weren't.

Certainly more comprehensive than the information from Sram which is pretty much zero with the meter and the Sram video fails to mention the torque figure to refit the crank or note good practice of greasing the surfaces.
@antz123-m3f10 күн бұрын
Thanks for the video. The press 7 tools you bought, plus the other cups - would you possibly have the links to where all of these can be bought? Also, can this kit be used to remove bearings from front and rear wheel hubs and free hubs? Now I think of it the headset also. Or are lots and lots of seperate tools needed? Also can you recommend a bike torque wrench which will cover all the parts on the bike or do I need one large and medium and one small. I'm a DIY'er doing things on my garage floor. I must get a workbench 🤔

The difference is dynamic pressure to overcome the resistance of the valve vs. Static pressure with the guage off... each valve clogged or not the difference vary. The smarter pumps should stop and start getting close to target pressure and measure static pressure when off.

I literally hate these brakes - lever is too far away from the bar, but they are indestructible, so I still can't throw them away and buy something more ergonomic
@UmunhumCycleworks21 күн бұрын
Does the lever adjust not work well for you? I bought a set of aftermarket levers that have a bit more of a curve to them which should bring the area where your fingers lie closer to the bar. Gonna install them soon and make a video - might be an option for you!
@sergerasklad21 күн бұрын
@@UmunhumCycleworks yeah, the closest possible position is too far away for my preferences (Enduro riding in mountains with relatively short fingers). But like I said, they are indestructible, they just work years and years after. Shimano does not stand a chance against these in terms of durability. But they do not fit if you like close to the bar lever position. Custom levers do exist, but they are too expensive, at least for me

Yup, I really love them! Do you find the 4 piston ones to be reliable? I've heard some people say that they are difficult to set up rub free.
@tplambert22 күн бұрын
@ hi! 👋🏻 happy new year! I’ve never had a problem. I bought them because my best friend has owned them for 6 odd years and has bought them for his other bike. I was personally running some crappy shimano 2 pots that were absolutely not cutting the mustard - so I bought them for 250€ in a sale! My best friend actually came off the cura 2 as he wasn’t happy with the performance. My Swedish friend also bought 4 front, 2 rear. Not a single problem over 5 different bikes that I know of. Only rave reviews. Which brings me to something you could consider. The 2s are great but my friend is 95kg, if you are getting onto that weight, I would not recommend the 2s, actually any 2 pot or weak stopping brakes for that matter for clydesdale type riders. Although I consider the cura 2 to be the best stopping 2 pot ever made. Another good for thought: consider running 4 up front and a 2 at the rear. The 4 is a considerable jump in power and modulation, you can use it at the front for ultimate power and the rear to scrub out fine-tune riding. A very respectable setup. One last caveat, you can buy custom handle levers for the cura 2/4s, as that is also a complaint for some riders. Both my Swedish friend and my best friend are running them, they both went for a more stubby and short lever, you can get them in many different colours, you’ll have to Google them as I’m not sure off the top of my head, both my friends swear by the levers. I personally am happy with the cura 4 levers.

@@UmunhumCycleworks edit - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125531213076 That’s the formula levers I’m talking about rgtec.bike, you can check eBay for them. May be a problem for you if you are in America I don’t know - I personally trust them as both sets of friends have them, but as I mentioned above, I’m happy with the cura 4 levers. Maybe I may try them. Apparently those are CNC’ed, better sealed bearings, better ergonomic form (that of course is debatable) and most importantly - you can choose your colour. 😉

I actually have a set of these in my parts box waiting to be installed 😂 they look great - my only complaint, and it isn't a real one, is that the gold doesn't match my dropper lever as well as I had hoped, but otherwise I'm looking forward to getting them installed!
@UmunhumCycleworks21 күн бұрын
4 front 2 rear sounds pretty awesome! I might look into that. I'm only 65-68 kg, so not too heavy, but always nice to have more power.

I noticed that you did not remove and clean the black rubber seal from the freewheel hub body. I would advise removing and cleaning that as it could be full of crud and debris.

I had the same experience with STAN. It actually develop corrosion within a few months. Crazy that there is no more awareness of this. Unfortunately it actually corroded the alu rim around the valve (where the tubeless valve is lodged), to the point it was not airtight anymore. I managed to fix the rim by rebuilding the valve area with 2-parts epoxy 'metal' (JB Weld).

I wouldn't recommend Park Tool torque wrenches I can't tell when it clicks with their small torque wrench. They are basically overpriced and rebranded generic Taiwanese torque wrenches. They do offer calibration services though. Also, you should've given Craftsman 40 dollar torque wrenches a chance but their services and warranty are not what it use to be from defunct Sears (RIP). In the old days, you just walk up to Sears counter for calibration services and warranty. Replacement with brand new torque wrench if still under warranty from the clerk. Done.

If you have a spare wheelset chuck on it an 11-32 shimano 105. It’s compatible. It’s 120 bucks New Zealand dollars… so you can race with the 11-28. That’s what I do. Racing wise you don’t want to have gaps between cogs and I found that often I span out the 50-11 cog.
