White nights is better for me , rosa is overpriced, white nights or Rembrandt watercolor the best out there 👌 thank u for the video ❤️

Kimberly....this is the BEST analysis of Viridian. Thanks so much. I just bought M Graham Viridian and will give it a try. I primarily paint landscapes... If you had to have ONE green in your palette, what would it be? And if you had TWO, what would they be? Looking forward to your response. Cheers.

I love all of the colours you have selected and had purchased many. Great to have my choices confirmed! I had to choose between Cobalt Green Deep and Cobalt Green. I'm tempted to try the others! Looking forward to seeing all your pigment info! I'm learning a lot from your comments.

Thanks for the review. I was curious about these "pans of ink". I was gonna buy a set but decided to just buy one open stock pan to see if I liked it. The selling point for me was that the colors are supposed to be permanent. If they're not permanent then I can just use the copious amount of watercolors I already have.

Is there a windsor and newton cottman primary colour trio youd recommend, like you have for the progessional version? Ive brought the professional trio and have thoroughly enjoyed moxing and painting with it, but I'd also love to have a cheaper alternative for learning with

Yes they behave differently than water colors, because they are ink. Great for urban painting. Hilarious that after your review, you made such a stunning painting! I guess mastery goes along way with any product review.

I have a tiny sample of these from Sketchbox and was playing around with them and attempted to use them to make fine lines. It's hard to describe the experience, except to say they are "heavy". Even a light touch resulted in a heavier line. I went back to my Daniel Smith and was much better able to form fine lines. They handle a bit like middle of the road gouache than like watercolors, except they don't lift. I have a full set of Inktense pencils (which I love) and the blocks (which I'm not a fan of). I was curious about the pans more because they're on a good price at Amazon, but I appreciate your helping me say no to myself, ha.

Thank you for this. I just invested in these pains. My first palette was naturals 3. It scared me because I didn't like what was happening. But when I mixed with water in a palette it went much better. They behave differently than other paints I'm used to. Did you find this was true with your experience? When I added water in the pans the colors were gummy. It scared me because I ordered more and they are expensive. I thought, what is wrong with me everyone else loves these paints. Karen from Canada ❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂

Thank you! Of course, all info on the tube should be accurate, and of course, it's the job of the paint company to make sure that it is. Those who are not meticulous in this regard will lose customer confidence. Nobody has any business to assume that light-fastness is important only for professional painters and that it's okay if a colour fades after x number of years, lol! We are not living in the 19th century when pigments were made from natural materials. Today, most is synthetic, even toxic. Even a painter who makes personal paintings for family and friends have the right to honest information about the paints they buy. After all, a personal painting is imbued with so much care and emotion and must be able to be preserved for generations to gaze at.

I’ve heard of colors fading in light, but never in the actual tube! I wonder if the quality of the product has changed over the years after this video was released?

The one thing is, as a professional artist selling your artwork, the tests for lightfastness need to be for A LOT LONGER THAN FOR JUST 6 MONTHS! For example, Winsor & Newton professional watercolors is lightfast for centuries, not just for 6 months, and you can always buy the replacement watercolour tubes or pans that you need and use a lot of. If you cannot obtain replacement Paul Rubens colors that you use up quickly, like payne's gray, and alizarin crimson, then what is the point, because you will be unable to use the Paul Rubens paints without having to repurchase the entire palette all over again? Professional artists are putting out LOTS of paintings EVERY DAY AND EVERY WEEK not just one or two" occasional" paintings, a year.............

I want to suggest an alternative if you use any fugitives is to digitize your work as soon as it is completely dry. The original may fade but not the digitized scan. You can still make prints (archival if desired) with the original colors.

It would be interesting to see these colors compared to the Schmincke supergranulating paints. They do have a few colors in their range where PBk11 is mixed with blue pigments. Does someone have both?
@Iwanttodrawachicken3 ай бұрын
albrecht durer's watercolours used paints with this kind of binder. It wasn't until much later in European history that we get what we consider western watercolours. Saying these aren't watercolours shows a lack of understanding of the medium. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and painting to help clear that up.
