What was the accuracy of the machine? We typically do intricate molding pins and sleeves and such, often with .0002" total tolerance allowed.

Have troubles with ours where we can’t slow down the set speed of the cross feed on the saddle. It only wants to haul ass with the feed rate. It’s a fine line going back and forth between stalling and feeding too fast with the middle handle. Also can’t get it to move in step feed mode and have to use the step feed plus plunge at the end (the float right selection)

If anyone else randomly stumbles on this and has no clue: It's VERY BASICALLY a very nice table that you can use a computer to exactly measure how far the table moved with a big magnifying glass on it. You can measure things like exact pitch of very fine screw threads which is great for quality control aka testing 100 out of a batch of 10,000 to make sure your threading device didn't develop a problem invisible to the naked eye. I don't know what kinds of normal ways to use it but for threads you could move the edge of a thread to the center of the image and change the table measurements to 0, then you could move to the next thread and the computer will say you moved .12533 inches. If you need the part to be .12520 inches or smaller than you know that the part is .00013 inches off.

i ran two or three of them at the same time. that was 1974. they were easy to run and so so accurate. real money makers if you had the work to feed them

I wonder what year that machine was built. 15 hp spindle and 6 to 400 speed must have seemed like hot stuff. Today, CNC lathes have 50 - 70 ho tool spindles and ??? Bhp chucks.
