Lovely video. I spent the whole summer 1986 there at my relatives cottage. I was working for the community during the days and back then the park around the castle looked not so good. I started to shape up all the bushes and hedges on my free time, to get some love into the place. I remember people asked me where I had learned to do that kind of gardening... For me it was just obvious, despite no previous experience. Maybe been watching too many British tv-shows when I was I kid, lol. Anyway, great to see that everything is in good shape and most of the area looks the same as almost 40 years ago. Cheers 😀

Half of my hometown (Grosse Pointe Shores) the wealthiest enclave in metro-Detroit literally all move to Naples FL, South Carolina, Palm Beach or Scottsdale AZ for the winters! Im guessing if you can afford this home, they do the same….

Ok, wait just one cotton-pickin minute. You mean to tell me that from this property, if I jumped in my little row boat, took Spring Lake down to the Grand River, and then rowed my booty for a little ways I could reach Lake Michigan!? Well, doggonit that stings.... that I don't have $2.5M layin' around or under the sofa. This property is a Best of Show.

My husband and I are looking at buying a new home on Lake Michigan or on a body of water that is connected (grand river , lake Macatawa , spring lake ) In the listing it states Lake Michigan is navigable by the pidgin river. Is the river an all sports river? Could you boat from the house to Lake Michigan? Thanks in advance!!

A smaller boat or by kayak would be navigable to Lake Michigan, there is a bridge you go under as enter Pigeon Lake then into Lake Michigan. Yes, thanks for reaching out. There was a home that was removed due to the encroaching bluff. The property is being sold as vacant land and is currently under contract.

Beautiful, but I wonder why someone with that kind of money wouldn’t built it on Lake Michigan or at least with a view of Lake Michigan.

It’s across the road from Saugatuck Dunes park on the lake. So it’s very close to the big lake while being completely private. Also, they won’t have to deal with erosion issues like those mansions with the view and pay double what the house is worth in landscaping and soil reinforcement. It’s literally just sand under those waterfront houses. I’d rent a place of the beach, but live here. Not everyone wants a party palace on the water - being close enough is good enough.

How in the world has this video gotten 0 likes until now. I grew up in South Haven MI and this is definitely very unique. It looks like a hidden gem. I dream of having it as my own some day in the future.

Definately the best overall state to live in. Great geography, endless things to do, strategic location. The education level and common sense level in the U.S. is obviously not that high or many more people would live in this state. I have mostly lived in CA and it sucks especially LA. The happiest day of my life will be when I move to MI and soon!
