Overall I enjoyed the battle report, you both seem like you were having fun. The music at the end of the video was totally overpowering your conversations.

The music was an editing mistake on my part. I made a last minute change, and forgot to readjust the clips to account for it

No Sign of Life inspired me to re-paint the bases on all my models to be Hoth-like. Like you said, the blue undertones really give it depth, and I love it. As for the terrain, I've found that white buildings + black gantries/roof platforms with a snowy dusting works very well and doesn't look out of place.

I have to agree that right now, Dracula seems a little over-tuned for a 5 threat and should be a 6 threat, but more games are needed to know for sure.

This is really the best response to Dracula. As of right now, I think he needs adjusting, but we will see what comes with future releases.

It seems like you play to fast and make many mistakes. Almost every video has an error. Have you thought about playing slower and editing out the down time?

We never pretend to be perfect, and fully acknowledge that mistakes are sometimes made. We do our best to acknowledge when it happens, and point it out, and have it be a way for others to learn from our mistakes. And this is before you add in the weird impact filming has on gameplay. In the end, this content is made available to everyone for free. If the mistakes bother you, then I am sorry to say the content might not be for you, and I am sure there there are some more competitive based videos out there, that make no mistakes, you would rather watch

I was shocked at how easily Dracula had an answer to everything. He does seem very strong but I think the matchup suited him as well.

The storm/snow troopers in this game felt like the way they're described in A New Hope: precise, deadly, a legion of faceless, remorseless killers. Y'know, as opposed to "those guys who got marked by teddy bears". Actually, considering how deadly the Ewoks are in this game, it's pretty cool to see AMG turning these units into who they were meant to be.

Just keep in mind we misread coordinated fire, and applied the extra dice to the second attack from the support units 2/3 times. A reactive can only trigger once per turn

Wow, what a perfectly characterful Empire list! 2 named commanders who would both rather hang back out of the fight, plus their legions of nameless soldiers and constant bombardment, it just felt perfect. I'd love to try a matchup like that against something like the Spectres, just for the dichotomy between "all the characters" and "all the troopers".

Honest cultural difference question - Does "mook" mean something different in Canada? I ask because the standard US meaning is certainly derogatory, but you seem to throw it around as a term of endearment. 🤷♂️

It's pretty much equivalent to "goon" here, but "goon" has a whole other connotation in hockey (it's a player whose job is to start fights and be a bully on the ice), so "mook" sees more usage in gaming as "random nameless dude". It's not intentionally a term of endearment, but it's certainly evolved into that. My gaming group uses it all the time when we're referring to anyone without an individual name or title, and sometimes those models get WORK done. We also say things like "ok, I activate this idiot", or, if they've done something really cool, "this glorious idiot". It's also important to point out that while "mook" is derogatory, it's not racist or classist or sexist or referring to any particular demographic. It's a fun word to use and won't cause unintended offense, no matter the company.

It is, mostly, a term to call someone foolish, or an idiot. It is odd to think that it may be considered derogatory, as it is mostly a term that has fallen out of use. Generally, we do not consider it derogatory to call someone an idiot, or foolish, especially when warranted. If there are viewers out there who do consider it derogatory, let me know. I will cease use of it right away, without any argument, as that is not where I want to be with the language I use on the channel. If it is a term I should not be using, I can assure you it is one that is done out of ignorance of the fact, not malice, and I am always up for growing and bettering myelf

Right now, Dracula definitely feels more like a 6 threat, than a 5. Honestly, I would not bat an eye if he had released at the higher threat. I have been reluctant to claim power creep on a lot of aspects of this game, but Dracula might be a candidate for that

WIth N'Kantu, when doing his Card attack don't forget that you may as well use Undead Empowerment when you roll skulls (like you did against Sable) since you lose all the soul tokens at the end anyways.

In round 4 you said you didn't have the power for hideous monster, but Dracula just did 3 damage to Steve so should have had 3 power. Hideous monster is paid for by the defender not Frank. Also the turn before Frank did no damage and you said you didn't gain power, but he has a gainer so always gets 1 (so should have had 2 in the next round)

I suspect there was a bit of mispeak on Frank's power side of things, on my part, as we did stop between clips a couple times, and ensure power power levels. Nice reminder on Hideous Monster, though!

Honestly werewolf seems super fun. I don't think there is a world where you want to use the agressive variant (the full moon one?) over the defensive one tho. Dracula is definitely the higlight. Frankenstein and Mummy are good but boring tho.

Heads up, Drac’s conditions trigger in his builder is on a Hit, not a wild. So he could have thrown out a few more conditions.

Sadly, I am inclined to agree. The starter set models, for the most part, really feel like they have been left behind. Not by much, a bit of tweaking would likely bring them in line, but newer releases are just a bit more tuned

I know this is silly or fussy, but I really wish you would use just the standard dice. It's harder for me to casually watch when the images on the faces of the dice are not right. That said, thanks for the reports!

Synergies. You said it. The ewoks had it. The other side didn't. For example, B2s are *much* better with Kalani. The non-ewok side was almost comically not using synergy. This wasn't dice. This was list. Not being harsh. Sorry. It was just a questionable design.

Nah, you are right. The dice were mostly fine, with only a couple spikes here and there. I definitely did not get diced in this one. I had some thoughts on how my team would perform, and it really did not show up, sadly.

This is actually my fav thing about Shatterpoint. You can take a lot of different characters together, and it isn’t awful, BUT it’s much better when you build a list ‘thematically’ as it’ll more likely work together.

At 37:20 when using Ahsoka's Fierce Protector. The ability says "then the character that moved may heal 3x". The pinned status prevents you from movement. I think in that case you cannot heal or attack.

I think that this battle report highlights some issues of the Shatterpoint. Mainly - most of the early releases are significantly weaker than the newer ones. In terms of action economy, synergies, expertise charts and overall amount of dice. As an example, ewoks here were able to gain free focus action, hunkers, generate additional dice while Sep/Mando list couldn’t do the same. To sum up, I think that the game urgently requires errata.

Some of the earlier releases could definitely benefit from some tweaking. Adjust some expertise here, and trigger there. Some minor adjustments could probably go a long way to bringing the core box stuff in line

I'm not so sure the older stuff is worse or in need of a tweak (with maybe literally one or two exceptions - 501st, for example), but if AMG did make adjustments, I bet they would take the MCP approach and make very, very small changes. They've proven that they are capable of using a tiny hammer to make things much better. :)

Small clarification, Charming Thief only grants power when an active or reactive superpower is used - Namor's rerolls are a passive superpower and would not trigger it.
