I don't think Israel should be displacing Palestinians with illegal settlements, but I also don't believe for a second they are committing genocide. I've been to Israel, and the West Bank, and to be clear, the problems that Palestinians face in Gaza and the West Bank is as much the failure and corruption of their own leadership as much as it is about persecution by the Israeli government. If they really want things to get better, they need to hold Palestinian leadership accountable. They need to elect people who will advocate for peace rather than culture wars, and who care more about their own people rather than lining their own pockets. The Israeli settlements are wrong, BUT that doesn't justify what Hamas did, and it doesn't explain why Hamas uses Palestinian women and children as shields. If they were real men intent on solving their problems with violence, they would keep the women and children out of it and go face their enemies head on, rather than hiding like dogs. Yes, they might die, but they'd die fighting.
