You can use the xlarge cloth twisted dog toys from dollar tree. Its just fabric strips twisted together.

Good afternoon Cindy 🌞 I am so in love with those metal trees and being double sides is fabulous. The other two dollar tree trees also great idea and all are as usual so upscale . I am just finishing off 28 ornaments I made for my British ex pats group here in VA USA and then off tomorrow to our daughters in Charleston South Carolina for thanksgiving. I know you have already had yours in Canada and I hope it was a good one for all. It’s become my favorite holiday as it’s just about getting together with each other. No presents to think about just time together. We might get on each others nerves after a couple of days though😂 take care and as always thanks for sharing your talent with us all 💐

I hope your Thanksgiving with your daughters is a great one - Enjoy! You're right it's all about just getting together with family... I have a family double birthday in December in a couple of weeks and then Christmas... so I'm glad our Thanksgiving is earlier than yours... otherwise too much cooking and good food too close together!! Enjoy your time!

I'm with you on that one... especially too much rich food! Of course... all the rich good food also are high carbs, which translate into sugar which means a migraine for me. Wish it meant I would successfully avoid it all but... well...

Good morning Cindy 🌞 everything turned out beautifully and I especially love those trees. I am learning so much from your videos. I have learned to be more patient with letting things dry or sit overnight and also sometimes I have to walk away from a project until the next day as I sometimes keep adding more and it’s not always necessary. You can enhance something with just a little and make it beautiful. Thank you again for sharing with us and have a great weekend 💐
@QueenBeeCreations8 күн бұрын
It's always a good reminder that sometimes 'less is more'! 😊 Though... sometimes 'more' IS more... and you've got it... walking away to gain some perspective is key to knowing which is which. I sometimes want to show you 'too' much and have to hold back because it's not in the best interest of the project. And... really... I think lots of people appreciate the difference that just simple fixes can make!

Love this video. Our annual Hunting Widows craft night will be these! What size ornaments are you using. My intent is for them to be put on an ornament holder for display - giving as Xmas gifts.
@QueenBeeCreations8 күн бұрын
I'm using the regular size baubles... hmmm... are those 4-5"?? It can be done with any size though. I have another video (you can search on the channel) where I do them with glitter... advantage of this method is that nothing needs to 'drain or wait for it to dry... dollar store glitter works just fine... and they make beautiful gifts!!

Could you not have taken the legs off before recovering? Are they not screwed on?
@QueenBeeCreations9 күн бұрын
Connie... great question! Sometimes, on these older pieces removing the legs isn't really a viable option because of the condition of the wood used and of the hardware itself. In this case the screws were recessed and badly rusted. Additionally, they had been 'glued' in place and attempting to 'chip' them away from the side panel wood was likely to cause splintering or cracking. In which case... I would have had to rebuild the piece and it wasn't worth it. Also... This was supposed to be a quick update - one that most viewers would feel they could complete without the need for a lot of specialized tools or wood working skills. You're right though... if the piece was 'good' and worth the time and effort then removing the legs gives you the best finish!!

@DylanShumway-hs3mm10 күн бұрын
Love them Cindy! And they could be used as ornaments too! Wondering if you put the toilet paper and water in a blender and made a purée and then added the glue, whether it would be like a toilet paper resin..I.e. pourable?
@QueenBeeCreations10 күн бұрын
Hmmm... that's a thought Wendy! I did think that I could perhaps use a blender to make the mixture 'smoother'... but thinned down more I don't see why you couldn't make it pourable. That's perhaps worth exploring further!

This is a great project to try. I'm thinking it would be good for ornaments so that they're not so heavy on the tree
@QueenBeeCreations10 күн бұрын
Yes Nancy!! You could definitely use this technique to do lighter ornaments! A lot of the moulds done with resin and clay are gorgeous but they definitely have some weight to them... which is maybe fine for faux trees but if you've got a real tree often their outter branches don't hold up the same weight!
