I got into my 08 turbo eight years ago and have never regretted my purchase. I have, during my ownership, have done all the maintenance and upgrades to my car. Other than a stage 1 tune, my Porsche has become my perfect 997.1 turbo. 😊 I have an E46 M3 as a stablemate to my amazing Porsche and recently added a 3rd gen John Cooper Works Mini as my new daily driver. Both the Porsche and M3 are taken out whenever I have an itch to drive them. As far as I am concerned, I have the perfect garage for me😊 As far as I am concerned, I feel I have the perfect generation of Porsche 911 turbo and BMW M3 sitting in my garage. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love the analog driving experience both cars provide every time I take either out for a good drive😊

Man we have similar taste! Now that I’m done making babies, I should be able to afford to get my M3 back and then add this amazing 997 turbo!

Its not a karaoke machine 😂. Its a dictaphone....in the 80-00s it was common place to "dictate" notes into a dictaphone, you'd then give that tape to your secretary who would transcribe it into written text.

I've got a 2014 Army Green with white roof with 65k miles golf cart. Wish I had more miles on it took him to Moab and did Chicken Corners and the Arches. Nothing tough or spectacular but the views were unreal out of sight. Just decided to change my own oil after wasting hours at the stealership and we make it to the golf course and back every week. I am simply stylin.

Just an FYI, If you take dry ice, break it up, Mix it with alchohol and pour this mixture or hold it in place over the rubber sound deadening. Let it sit for about 2 or 3 minutes, then take a small hammer and hit it. It will break loose and you can just pick it up and put it in the trash. It breaks off in small chunks. We used a small hammer with a chissel on the other side, and you just hit it and it breaks apart and comes up off the floor with ease. We did that on our 72 xj6 and it took like 30 minutes to do the entire floor. Just an FYI.

They usually had a hood that was silghtly contoured to accomodate the engine. I saw one for the first time in real life a couple of months ago and I don't expect ever to see another one.
@Chris-v4z1t2 ай бұрын
The contoured hood was only on the Costello V8, (private converter). BMC moved the carburettors back to use a standard one.

Great video! My interest is that I was a professional car photographer, MGB GT owner and founder member of the MGOC when the V8 came out. When it arrived for photographing, it had the V8 badges taped over and a 50 mph sticker on the tailgate as we were in the middle of the fuel crisis back then. I had the car for a week, only took the tape off the badges when photographing it, drove it hundreds of miles, loved it and promised myself that I'd own one as soon as I could . . . which I finally did in 1977, keeping it for three years before moving on to Porsche 911s and then BMWs when the kids came along. I loved the BGT V8 and it remains the car I most regret selling. PS: I also owned an MGC GT before the V8 but not for long as I just didn't enjoy driving it one bit . . . especially compared to all the cars I was photographing back then.

You didn't play with the overdrive on the gearbox. Turns it into a 6-speed. I'm glad you found you don't need a massive motor to have a permanent grin in your face. See,us Brits know how to build cars that are fun to drive. Track down an Austin Healey 3000 & a Triumph TR 6. They also have overdrive gearboxes to play with. MORE fun.
