Hi Richard, Good question! I simply let them out an hour or two before dark. Once it starts getting dark, they will make their way back to their respective roosting spots. And they know that's where their food and water are too although I do have a treat outside the cage for them on occasion (I especially enjoy putting a snack in my lap and let them come to me). I might have to round up two to four of them, but they usually go back on their own. I have so many more to post but just haven't had the time to do it. I really do want to get them posted, so try to watch for them. Take care!

Hi Mushka, actually, I probably picked most of mine up at one of the bird shows I've gone to over the years. But you can actually get them almost anywhere although they're more expensive when you buy them one to two at a time in the stores. You can pick them up at Walmart, Amazon, Petco and some of the online sites like Lady Gouldian Finch which can be rather expensive for some of their things but you can't beat them for information and supplements. They have a wealth of information but that's if you're interested in Gouldians. But most of the information is applicable to most birds. They're also one of the very few to carry my very favorite waterers in various sizes. Some other places online are healthypets.com, entirelypets Pharmacy. Com. I was going to try to send you two or three links but it's trying to put the long long version of the URL. But just go to either of those sites and look for small seed cups. Two of the better brands would be Prevue Pet Products or Living World. with my first choice being Prevue Pet Products. Best of luck to you and happy holidays!

I've not been in good health and don't really have the energy right now. Haven't for a while. Actually , for that very reason I had to give up all my babies. It absolutely broke my heart and I think that's just added to my issues. They were such an integral part of my life. I always had a way of lifting my spirit and calming my soul. No, thank goodness! I kept trying until I found a nest that she was happy with. But I have had another to lay eggs in one of those trough feeders. Of course they didn't hatch because it's too hard for them to keep them warm enough in that trough because the eggs want to spread out too much. Has she started laying eggs yet?

U can get an antibiotic from morning bird.com and keep on hand for any future issues, also, there is a finch forum online with many breeders and owners that address any issues and can help direct u.

I have a Pinterest board called "A Few Photos and Videos of My Feathered Friends" I believe. You cannot only see videos there but you can see lots of photos of them as well.
