He can't be vector-based because the plugin's engine doesn't work in vector mode, it only supports bmp+png. So how's the engine, which can't even scale, supposed to be vector? Vector solutions are mostly about the engine's capabilities and graphic implementations, but this plugin is just a basic, classic graphic shell and nothing more. A real vector engine is something like the reFX Nexus 4 series, which is controlled by parameter-based rendering and programming. But plugins like Massive, FM8, or Spire are mostly high-res raster textures, and even plugins like FM8 or Massive don’t have that. Developers don't give a crap about supporting popular plugins and prefer pushing out new solutions just to boost hardware sales, making people buy new gear just to run these new setups. That's marketing, my dude.

Indeed, if it were within our power to make global changes, we would have certainly developed better solutions, even in the vector capabilities of graphics. Unfortunately, the developer has been ignoring us for over 3 or even 4 years and doesn't share our views. We believe that virtual instruments like Massive 1 and FM8 should be trending and supported at all levels, as they are truly amazing tools with a broad range of capabilities that even outshine new offerings on the sound market today, which are packed with heavy graphics that require purchasing new hardware to run. Meanwhile, older solutions like Massive and FM8 we simply updated to keep the retro trend alive. Even our mods have limitations, so unfortunately, they are not vector-based.

The old design of version 2 of Nexus by reFX doesn’t use a GUI based on parameters, but graphical elements instead, whereas Nexus 3 and Nexus 4 are parameter-based, meaning all elements, colors, and design settings are defined by JSON scripts, making it an entirely different type of graphical engine. So, to answer your question if it’s possible to use themes from Nexus 2 on Nexus 4 - absolutely not, as these are practically different plugins, fundamentally. The only thing they have in common is the familiar control interface and the ability to use libraries from previous versions, since it’s a rompler.

Unfortunately, the Native Instruments team did not take an interest in our designs and did not accept them to be made available even on the Mac versions. Therefore, we only release them as a bonus for our customers and only for Windows versions as a mod. Regarding the difference between the two styles, it lies in the buttons, which you can notice at the 35-second mark of the promo video and some other elements. @@COLOVEProducts Hello, Well, what can I say? I live in Berlin. We have U-HE, Ableton, Native Instruments, etc. here. Native Instruments was founded in Berlin in 1996. U-HE is an audio software company from Berlin and was founded in 2001 by Urs Heckmann. The two founders, Gerhard Behles and Robert Henke, came up with the idea for Ableton in the mid-90s when they were making dub techno together in Berlin under the name Monolake. Bitwig was founded in Berlin in 2009. We were four people and had a clear idea of what a modern digital audio workstation (DAW) should be. I find Bitwig and Ableton very similar. Funnily enough, both are from Berlin. It kind of reminds me of Cubase and the developer dispute that led to the founding of C-Lab/Emagic and the DAW "Logic," which was then sold to Apple. In between? Steinberg, founded in Hamburg, was sold to Yamaha, then to Pinnacle, and then Yamaha bought it back. One of the most relevant developers of Cubase then switched to PreSonus and is responsible for Studio One. I’ll put it this way: U-HE was smart enough to collaborate with Hans Zimmer and his programmer to create Zebra. Synapse Audio, in collaboration with Zimmer and his sound programmer, brought "The Legend HZ" to life. Look at Native, Waves, IK. They post on their page - instead of €200, only €19. Massive or FM8 for €19 instead of €149. I don't know how you approached Native Instruments. But I have the advantage of living in Berlin. If you were to complement your skins with matching sounds under the name of a "trendy patron," you could offer Massive with your skin as a "Dave Gahan Edition" (he used Massive for both solo albums), for example. I don't know - but are Native Instruments so complacent or so blind that they don't realize they're wasting potential?
