Insightful. The information you shared about the attitudes of the Jewish leaders was especially illuminating.

From many years ago I had concluded that Jesus was calling for humility in his disciples in the event that you described. The background information that you provided filled some gaps and made for a powerful message.

Your perspective is appreciated. Your description of some of the humor in the Bible removes the halos often depicted in ancient Christian art and suggests a much more earthy view of biblical characters. It takes nothing from the faith of the faithful, but reminds us that people are people and the biblical writers did not shy away from the raw grit of life. Thank you.
