I always thought that starboard lights were green and larboard ones red.

I've got the same kit- I'm going to build it as a tribute to my dad, who was on HMCS Moose Jaw.

There is a mistake: Red light musts go on port side, not starboard Starboard light is green, not red.

They wee poundshop belt rivets are pretty handy in modeling sometimes I've used them for loads even years ago when first found them using them on model cars exhaust n turbos etc I'm a more experienced armour modeller now probably would only use them for port holes now but looks the part! I have them same cheap snips there good for brass rods but try find a blue set of master tools there just something for your parts! Thin n sharp not big n chunky

my version of this kit (in it's RCN configuration) was originally a Matchbox model, has been sitting on my mantel for the last 22yrs along with a picture of my uncle, who served aboard a Corvette from 1940 -1946 on convoy duty. nice kit in it's day.

That was a very impressive build. The company I work for offered to do a pro bono job of a donated kit for a museum, not really appreciating that the HMCS Alberni was a short forecastle version of the corvette. It was dropped in my lap, and even without the accessory kit that I did not have, or cutting back the foc'sle, that kit is one big build. I wish mine job was nearly as good as yours, but the museum operator was over the moon nonetheless! Thanks for sharing.

Hello I have reached the stage where I will soon be fitting the radar motor but I cannot see how to support the motor in part numbers G48 and 47. Also are you just supposed to glue the motor spindle to part number K47 that supports the radar I thought there would be a hole to push spindle in the apply glue. Any help will be appreciated Roy

Fantastic job of work. You are clearly very talented. I see someone's mentioned the lights, easily rectified, and it really doesn't even weigh in the balance. It must have taken you a very long time and been an act of dedication. Hat is off to you. Very best wishes.

Love the work you did on this model. We (my dad and I) are building the exact same model and will be doing remote control with a custom built RC transmitter (which I am building). We'd like to put a smoke generator in our model as well. Can you share what you used for your smoke generator?

I heard a story of how the Snowberry was in a group of faster ships and they were expecting her to fall out of formation at the speed they was going at. The formation leader signaled the Snowberry asking what speed she was going at. The Snowberry answered the speed her captain thought she was going at which was a few knots slower then she was actually doing. In the end they looked into how she was going faster then designed. Turned out her chief engineer was little of a tinkerer and tinkered with the engines and increased the power of her engines. I understand his tinkering was added to other warships as a result.
