Physics is my favorite but I opted for engineering for the easy money. In physics you have to work very hard for good money, in engineering you literally have to do nothing and money flows.

Why all the masks?

Dark matter is dilated mass. Mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's what our high school teachers were talking about when they said "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". A graph illustrates its squared nature, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation. It occurs wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass. This includes the centers of very high mass stars and the overwhelming majority of galaxy centers. The mass at the center of our own galaxy is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. In other words that mass is all around us. Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has recently been confirmed in 6 ultra diffuse galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have no dark matter.

One question from a non-professional: If anti-matter is generated but disappears in such a short time, it being presumably annihilated by 'conventional' matter, a fairly large amount of energy should be generated that should be measured, allowing for the estimation of how much anti-matter was present. Is all this recorded as expected in actual experiments? I assume that the amount is a few atoms, and the energy might be small despite the x c^2 conversion into energy. Is this correct? Was just curious.

Dark matter is dilated mass. General Relativity predicts dilation, not singularities. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" Einstein wrote - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star clusters) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation (sometimes called gamma or y) mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon behind the phrase "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation, it's not just time that gets dilated. Dilation will occur wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass because high mass means high momentum. It's the original and correct explanation for why we cannot see light from the galactic center. It can be inferred mathematically that the mass at the center of our own galaxy must be dilated. In other words that mass is all around us. Sound familiar? This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies, the " missing mass" is dilated mass. Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass in their centers. To date, 6 very low mass galaxies have been confirmed to show no signs of dark matter. This also explains why all planets and all binary stars have normal rotation rates, not 3 times normal. This also explains the CMB. We are receiving radiation from the galactic center but it comes from all directions. If the WMAP satellite was positioned outside the bounds of our galaxy it would record a background radiation of near zero. There was clarity in astronomy before television and movies popularized singularities starting in the 1960's. Einstein is known to have repeatedly said that they cannot exist. Nobody believed in them when he was alive including Plank, Bohr, Schrodinger, Dirac, Heisenberg, Feynman etc.

At the end of the day, Muller sold out to make sure his daughter had a job, my only conclusion that I can come to. It is evident in today's world and the huge politics that plays its role in dominating the science of climate that Muler caved under pressure. I had huge respect for Muller initially and actually changed by thinking on this topic, but at the end of the day, all that Muller presents is that CO2 is his best guess at what is causing any rise in temp and he conveniently allows other people like Zeke Hausfather to take on crucial roles in their supposed analysis of the climate - which is a total political whitewash. It wasn't till I got a deeper understanding of Quantum Physics/Mechanics through teachers like Miguel van Biezen that I understood why Muller was just a sellout, even though initially, by denouncing Michael Man, I give him so much credence ( Note : never but people on pedestals they are human and want work/recognition and their family to work and they can be swayed accordingly to reach those goals) The UN is driving this corruption from the IPCC for no doubt nefarious reason of global dominance/communism/via carbon taxation. Konrad Lehnert, Three axis MEMs gravimeters can be made sensitive enough to measure precisely the vector tidal sun moon signal that is the main part (about 98.5%) of the signal at a superconducting gravimeters station. Using the JPL ephemeris this is just the sun's acceleration at the station minus the suns' acceleration at the center of the earth, plus moon at the station minus the moon at the center of the earth, plus the centrifugal acceleration of the station due to earth rotation. Put that in station North East Vertical and it only needs a linear regression (offset and multiplier to fit. It is so sensitive that small changes in position and orientation are measurable. Gravity is not affected by the ionosphere or oceans, or underground or shielding. A great way to calibrate global networks. The broadband seismometers reporting velocity can be differentiated to get the acceleration, and for quiet stations all three vector signals are there - linear regressions. The residual after subtracting this Newtonian signal is mostly microseisms and atmospheric density changes. There are atom interferometer gravimeters, tensor gravimeters that can fly on drones. You can use atomic force microscope sensors as gravimeters, you can monitor any movement precisely take the first and second derivatives and have a "gravimeter". I set the hurdle for the term "gravimeter" at "can measure and stay locked to the sun moon tidal signal". But the next stage is "measure the speed of gravity", that requires precision timing, but now that is mostly available in lots of ways. There are "Bose Einstein gravimeters", "electrochemical gravimeters", and several what I call "direct potential sensors" like Mossbauer, gravitational time dilation, atomic clock and some of photon interferometer detectors. If you can monitor at Mega Samples Per Second you can use arrays to image inside the earth, in the atmosphere, in the oceans, in side the moon, inside the sun. It is very similar to "passive time of flight correlation imaging". It does help to use vibration isolation, but better is to have stages for measurements with smaller and more sensitive detectors stacked on less sensitive ones. If all your detectors are "null" (no movement), then the "holding constant" signals simply have to be recorded precisely. " If you are not already part of SEMI-MEMS, you might want to look at those groups. I did work with someone a few years ago to adapt the atom force noncontact cantilevers as gravimeters (sensitive accelerometers). The higher modes are more sensitive, you show you can drive and excite and measure those. Wonderful to see these results, and that the team has developed such skills in laser operations,with the tight coupling between experiment, theory and simulation. The elegance of the laser operations that can tailor pulse shape and tweek frequencies just enough at these incredible power densities to use cross-beam transfer to smooth things out is amazing. I can see that the investment in the NIF took vision and trust from funding agencies and Congress and that action produced real value for the country, even with the national security value not visible. I hope that the upgrade will be funded.

After SN1987a, Dr. Bethe spoke at LBL and casually mentioned that during a supernova, once matter becomes opaque to neutrinos......and at that point, my mind was opened in a new way. Matter so dense neutrinos can be trapped! For real physicists, this was a normal thing however for me it was (and is) amazing. Enjoyed this talk very much, interesting that doing physics takes so long and life is so short. Thanks.

At a local university we have a physics professor who apparently accepts all laws of physics (whether he has performed any relevant work or research himself) with one exception: AGW. He claims that he is not sure of this one topic and would not be until he performed his own work. Because he was a physics professor patrons in the coffee shop where he was pontificating were impressed, and I have to fill in the gaps for the confused patrons when he left. As a computer scientist I accept all the physics law/formulas I learned in HS and college. It would be hubris for me to not accept them until I perform the studies myself.
