@@dani_raudvikExcellent! I just got my Wavestate desktop version in and am tempted to expand to the “trio” (and add Modwave and Opsix). These are great synths indeed. I like how you build your patches and then use them musically. Most videos on YT are just “gear talk” and not focused on a performance. Your music conveys a lot of emotion and has touched me in many ways. Thanks for your reaction. And thanks for sharing your art.

I‘ve never been much into talking about what something I have can do. I’d rather learn it inside and out and then demonstrate it. Plus, I do better with something like that if I have a specific aspect to talk about rather than just going on about a thing in general. Also, I can‘t recommend the opsix and modwave enough. They‘re both outstanding pieces of gear. Thank you again for coming by and for sharing how what I do has made an impact on you 😊

@dani_raudvik7 күн бұрын
Thank you for checking out the video, and I'm very sorry for the unpleasant frequencies 😔 As for the "chatter", that was one of the noise samples with a square LFO affecting the amplitude at 100% and at an oscillation rate precisely matching the Vela Pulsar's rotation speed. Once you have that, mod to your heart's content and make it weird 😊 Thank you again for stopping by!

Amazing. This was all programmed into the synth to trigger off an individual key press? So many layers and envelops happening.
@dani_raudvik8 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for checking this out and for the feedback! There were keyboard splits to keep layers B-D (pad/choral sounds) separate from layer A (deep bass saw wave). In addition to various envelopes happening at different times and at different rates, I had an x-modded square amp LFO modding one of the pad layers so it would jump in and out or pulsate depending on the randomized oscillation rate of the amp LFO. My goal was to try to blur the line between whether the listener was hearing a randomly-triggered envelope or whether the sound pulsing was due to the LFO. 😊 This was a lot of fun to build. I have some other tricks up my sleeve for future sessions, but I definitely want to do similar patches to this with lead/melody layers as well. Thank you again for stopping by and checking this out! 😃

Is it just my random choice of your videos or Modwave indeed sounds "sharper" and Wavestate "softer"? I own both and actually am much more interested in Wavestate but I like the "sharpness" of your Modwave performances, they sound a bit more "spicy" to me.
@dani_raudvik10 күн бұрын
The wavestate is a "softer" synth compared to the modwave I think, but that just has to do with the way that wavetables are. As far as how I use the modwave itself, having each oscillator be split between two wavetables, and then having the position on those wavetables being modified by random LFOs creates the jumps through their harmonic content, which is what gives them an edge over the sounds on the wavestate. I love both of these synthesizers, but I'd never think that I could force a modwave-type sound with all of that digital edge out of the wavestate. That said, the MS-20 LPF does give more of an edge to the sounds from the wavestate, but that will only go so far. Thanks for stopping by and checking out this video! 😊
@AntonMochalin10 күн бұрын
@@dani_raudvik yes I thought something similar but the difference is quite subtle at least through my tablet's speakers through which I mostly listened so I thought maybe I'm just imagining it, thanks for your answer!

Sounds good! I use wavestate for much faster moving sounds but I really like this possibility of pressing a key once per half a minute and then turning some knobs.
@dani_raudvik12 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! I never thought to approach the wavestate as a means to make faster-paced music. I like the presets that are built in to it that have that feel, but I definitely see my use for it as being solely for huge, slow, atmospheric sounds. The challenge of it all is to make the sounds morph to a high enough degree to be interesting - to me at the very least - but also slowly enough that it makes sense within the scope of the atmosphere I'm attempting to create. Thanks for stopping by and for the comment 🙂
