I don't even remember what happened today that made me remember this song but once I did I had to hear it. I bought the cassette single back in the day. Weird Al, Joe Dolce, Julie Brown, Tracey Ulman. All amazing talents that had us cracking up in the 80's would be SO canceled if they did their biggest hits today. Everyone today knows Lois Griffin from the most politically incorrect sitcom "Family Guy" or her hilarious turn on the "Marvelous Ms. Mazel". I personally will always think she "look-a like-a man." Up until mom died my dad would pick me up whenever I was crying, weather I got hurt on the playground, I wouldn’t clean my room, when I didn’t like dinner, and he would sing “What’s a matta fo you! Why for you so sad, shutapa ya face!” And he’d toss me in the air and then rock me until I stoped screaming or crying about being hurt and he’d sing that until I’d start laughing. In my teen years I watched my dad and my uncle who had 2 kids of his own do this all over again with my baby sister and even our dogs when they would get upset about bed time. One of the dogs is 60lbs and still likes to be picked up and sang and rocked to with my dad singing to her. I understand why he stopped singing this song to me after mom died, I didn’t have anything to be happy about. So when that spark of my middle sister and my baby sister came into our lives we had at least alittle bit of the happiness that we lost when mom died. My step mom is a real peice of work but I’ll put up with her as long as I get to see my family.

It made Number Eleven in the UK chart. David prefers the flip side of this Double A Side record called Get It Up For Love but it got banned in the UK and radio and TV stations would only play IWTS.
