I've Been to caribou valley Rd., Crocker cirque campsite isn't bad, but at times the stream there is dry, if so you could walk further into the campsite up to the cirque itself, there may be some water in it, whether there is or not, there's still the great view and possibility of moose or deer.

From the loss of Remington to a crippling accident, you have persevered. I admire you.

This tent is really bad in rain, per my experience this last week...
@g.s.ballardАй бұрын
I don't disagree. I've resorted to using a small tarp suspended over the top in heavy rain. It defeats the weight saving, but I'd rather be dry..

Are you happy with it, I see your doggo there. Any holes from ur dogs nails? How's the condensation?
@g.s.ballardАй бұрын
I didn't camp with my dog, so I can't comment on that. Condensation is a battle for any single wall tent. It was the worst in freezing conditions but manageable. I'm now looking for a freestanding tent that might be best for a dog (less guylines) 🤔

I'm truly blown away by the madness that it takes to do the AT. These conditions are no joke. It was like you were walking through streams. Which was worse the mosquitos or the heavy rains? And although I've seen every video you have put out I'm wondering ... how is the sleep when your head finally hits the pillow? So so proud of your accomplishments!

This was a great day! Good weather after a crazy storm. Crossed into Vermont. 3 states left! And for you and whoever wants to know, hiking with a Dog in VerMUD: Luna loves the puddles and the mud, so she would lay in every puddle she came too if she could. I let her do it since it cools her down and she likes it, but after a certain time of day, I don't let her lay down in the mud/streams anymore so she can be somewhat dry getting into the tent. Laying in puddles are morning activities. :) And when its rainy, just embrace wet dog in the tent. :) No pain, no rain....

Wow! Can’t believe the commitment it takes to stay out there. Every AT “viewer” needs to watch this video. It takes the romanticism out of the journey for all those coach potatoes like myself! I am so impressed with all the hikers from your year. You guys and gals are tough!

Thanks Dan. I'm not trying to portray this as a negative experience, but a thruhike of the AT is very challenging under the best circumstances. I want to give a glimpse of how difficult it can be to take on mother nature every day. It's certainly not always rainbows and unicorns.

I appreciate you posting but from one content creator to another....honestly it's hard to listen to all the complaints, if your not happy hiking then don't do it.....it's not the end of the world that your stuff got wet, that's what you get when you take on camping hiking like that.....talk about other things it become redundant when you focus on the negative and the rain....

I appreciate your feedback. Stay tuned to see my attitude change to gratitude. Q- Are you aware of the record rain and flooding that occurred in New England in '23? Can you provide any insight into your experience with long distance hiking?
@AudreyGibson57310 ай бұрын
As a Class of 2023 AT thru hiker, the repetitive rainy days in the northeast were devastating to my morale. It caused many hikers to get off trail. It’s what all the hikers talked about because that’s what we were exposed to consistently. This is Remington’s daily vlog of the experience, so of course he would want to share his thoughts and emotions about the rain. Remi showed perseverance day after day hiking through the rain with wet feet, wet clothes, and a wet tent. The rain was part of the journey. Not every day on trail was a “happy” day. Remington, you showed restraint and grace replying to this negative comment. Keep the content coming!
