well it is 3 completely different drives so your comparison is useless, yes WD is noisy and needs power as all 3.5" drives

People buying a 16TB drive are buying it because they have a lot of data to back up. They don't want a 5TB or 2TB recommendation. I have one of these drives and it is NOT loud at all and it does store the 14+TB of stuff I had to archive.

So instead of 16TB drive you recommend 2TB stick....sounds reasonable. And you call yourself a tech guy? I'll call you an idiot

Had mine 2 months and packed up. Opened it up and motor was wet and rusty. Poorly designed. Bought a Karcher and no issues. You get what you pay for.

I think your item is defective. Im dis agree with your review. Im using my wd elements 16tb hard drive. Not noisy and very useful to me. Its 2 years now since i bought it. Im very satisfied with my wd elements 16tb until now. Thumbs up western digital
