Look at how easy it is to make these parts and the exorbitant prices they charge for these parts, absolute rip off........👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

that is not done in australia i worked for ford's and ran the original XA guards they were not pressed like that, have a look at the press single action done by a cushion the original panels were made in a double action press(draw die) then set down the press line 6 presses in total on guarding on the press short sleeves only one person operating the press this went out the door in ford's australia in the 1950's no ear protection totaly illegal, work safe australia would have you

Chinese writing on the laser cutter controls, Chinese blokes operating the machines; hand-written Chinese characters on the fender being cut - I reckon it IS made in China or Taiwan. China most likely.
@keithammleter38242 жыл бұрын
@@wildwoodbine5149 : There is nothing on that website that shows they make body panels on their premises in Brendale. But does it matter? I've had stuff custom made in China - because they can do it. You get what you pay for. Haggle for minimum price and they cut corners. Pay a fair price and the Chinese are as good as anyone. Its like that certain tool company based in Queensland that sell cheap Chinese tools that are not very good - but Sidchrome tools are as good as ever and they are now made in China too.

The car industry is about to dissapear forever in Australia, most people dont even know what 'toolmaking' is,I agree it redistibutes wealth & creates more poverty. The tail (china) is wagging the dog (western world) it is a vunerable position for a country to be in, when you dont have a engineering base to make anything. They have long term plans 50yrs+, not like us. We will pay dearly for cheap, rather our chidren will.
@fractalign7 жыл бұрын
The good news is that most of our heavy trucks are made here, and have been for decades without any government assistance what so ever. Unfortunately there has always been disdain for locally produced cars by most Aussies more so now than ever. Most Australians want the Asian built 4 cylinder hatchbacks and SUVs as an entry level car or the Asian or European built mid range sedans and 4WDs at the higher end. The middle ground, locally built six and eight cylinder powered sedans and utilities have been in decline for years as a result. The blame for this decline lays squarely at the feet of the local car buying public who have about as much passion for automobiles as they do for toilet paper and the government that though getting rid of tariffs was a good idea.

What did it cost to press the first guard? wonder if someone will make a xy body. I would but dont have the funds.
@ellesmerewildwood48588 жыл бұрын
That's right where you wanna be, half your body under the press aligning stuff. 1:50 ish. That's half the reason the Chinese make shit so cheap, almost zero safety. The guy gets caught in the press, they other guys hose off the mess and just keep pressing panels.

No wonder the Chinese are getting richer. What a complete fuck up on our part allowing these heritage car parts being made in countries who don't give a fuck about our vintage car heritage, only the money it generates for another economy. He is the one giving it a red hot go and trying to provide repo parts at an affordable price, Wankers are asking 30k for 808's with a barely living 13b in them these days and all people can do is complain when someone tries to bring the price down so people can build them without drug money. Good work Phil keep it up mate.
