I know it would be a pain but I think you should follow the same color stripes that are on the outside. Either that or you could do a boarder that is tan and a lighter color for the inside box. I use to paint for a living, it comes out amazing.

Moss green is in right now , bypassing grey... white washed colors are also a favorite.

A pastel color, not white. White will get dinghy after a bit and will reflect light making the inside too bright at times.
