Excellent research work done. When I made a search to teach keyboard to my 10 yr old daughter studying in Japanese school in Japan, I got your nice video. We both learnt within ten minute all the 72 pattern. And she played it once without any practice. Before that She was familiar with ‘la fe ra’ style taught in her school ,she grasped easily. Even though still a lot to go, it is a great attempt and gave confidence in memorizing. Thanks a lot Ravi Master for introducing ‘Ravi’s Method’.

Please explain how to find out the starting swara of any carnatic song.
@cst6993 күн бұрын
99% songs end in the root note 'sa'. From this you can backtrack and find the starting note. If you practice this for few songs, your ear will be trained to find the starting note of any song, after listening to the first line. One tip: beginners please try for songs in simple ragas like Shankarabharanam, Kalyani, Mohanam, Hamsadhwani, Mayamalavagowlai

Thanks for the wonderful idea. Starting with the first note of the scale, the next note to be played leaving the number of notes given. This is repeated till the last number and finally, the root note to be played, marking the next octave. Example: number for Keeravani given in the video is: 101102 For C-scale, starting note is C, next note is D (comes after skipping 1 note - first number of 101102), next note is D# (comes by skipping 0 note, that is the next note in keyboard - 0 is the second number in 101102), next is F (skipping 1 note from D# - third number in 101102) and so on till A#; complete the scale with next octave C after A#. Numbers for some more ragas: Kanakangi 002100 Hanumathodi 011101 Mayamalavagowlai 020102 Karaharapriya 101110 Shankarabharanam 110111 Chalanattai 200120 Salagam 003000 Bhavapriya 012001 Kamavarthini 021002 Hemavati 102010 Kalyani 111011 Rasikapriya 201020 Natabhairavi 101101 Keeravani 101102 Gowrimanohari 101111 Shanmukapriya 102001 Simhendramadyamam 102002 Dharmavati 102011 Chakravagam 020110 Hatakambari 020120 Charukesi 110101 Sarasangi 110102 Harikambhoji 110110 Subhapantuvarali 012002 Swarnangi 012011 Mohanam 1121 Madyamavati 1212 Hindolam 2121 Shuddha saveri 1211 Shuddha dhanyasi 2112 Shivaranjani 1031 Revathi 0312 Hamsadhwani 1123 Nagaswaravali 3011 Gambheeranaatai 3013 Bhupalam 0130 Hamsanadham 1303 Abhogi 1013 Valaji 3210 Amirthavarshini 3103

Really super u got it... Vaalthugal.. Menmelum valarah...
Thank you for your easy to comprehend explanations and easy methods to learn the basics. I was quite amazed by the simple diagrammatic formula devised by you to derive all the melakartha raga notes. I’m just a toddler in this field. Thank you for your great help. One humble doubt. If we start to change the scales of a raga then incidentally it coincides with other ragas in C scale. For example Keeravani of E scale resembles Kosalam of C scale , F scale resembles Vakulabaranam of C scale, and so on. This adds to more confusion and dilemma in identifying a scale or raga of a song. The concept of ragas looks more cumbersome and difficult than the western scale method. Please help to overcome this confusion.
