Thanks to Sharpey for the vid, I don't have an angle grinder so did it a different way that worked really well. 1. Use an 8mm drill bit to drill down about 5mm into the socket of the bolt 2. Tap the T50 torx bit in with a hammer 3. Loosen off with breaker bar - don't use impact gun until loosened 4. Zip out with impact gun Worked perfectly and saved me a ton of time doing the opposite disc once I worked this out! Going to make a vid but thought I'd leave this here.

Same issue but one torx has bit stuck in and the other one is cut off at the head so just thread left in the hole. Can I just cut the inside of the hub off with a grinder? I can’t get a bit long enough to drill them out?

Anyone experienced getting a new bearing with shorter torx bolts supplied than the originals? I bought a cheap bearing and an expensive one and both had torx bolts 10mm shorter than originals. Seems a bit dodgy with 10mm less.

Good morning, its nothing near a short circuit. You are witnessing EMF backfeed die to a high resistance on the earth which causes the flow to backfeed up cables that are normally live upon action. The electricity escapes down anything it can which is why lights "trafficate". Please don't call an EMF backfeed a short circuit. The EMF doesn't like it. You wouldn't like anyone calling you by a name that isn't yours . Stay well, stay seen. Signed A vehicle electrician

For cutting out the bolt holes, put a ball bearing (larger than the hole) in it, and hit the ball bearing.

So I'm guessing the bearings are lubed by the diff oil. Did you put a bit of grease on them for the initial lube.

Just an update. I had the same problem as Sharpey, used this to fix it. For the next wheel, I tried my own method - do this for each bolt and it will come off very easy : beat up the bolt with a long bar through the hole, clean it up with a tiny screwdriver inside so that the bit fits perfectly, beat it up again with the bar, then put your bit in and beat it up with the hammer while its in (not.too hard, just normal taps), then undo it the normal.way. Comes off no problem. Took me 20 mins to get all 5 off, works a treat!

I noticed yesterday that one of the wheel studs are broke and I have 4 out of 5 bolts on the wheel.. Makes me wonder if owt else is damaged in there.

I've got just same problem ,but bolt is the bottom one...happy hours .Thanks Mate to show this solution

Do you need to apply wheel bearing grease?

I couldn't undo 3 torxs last time. I drilled them off. Takes around 5 minutes for each one . I think it's better to buy 3 new torx bolts than new brake disc :) Still, transit brake discs is a pain in the ass!

Did you try hammering in the next size up torx bit the 55 or maybe a spline drive bit?

My sump is okay free from rust etc I just need to change my gasket do you reckon I’d be able to do that without taking the oil pick up pipe off?
